For those of us calling RCCG names, its so unfortunate. There is nothing like Redeemed Christian Church of God but The Redeemed Christian Church of God. So dat letter is definitely not from the Rccg

Your reaction just made my reading this post a worthwhile. I wonder why these churches will not remain in their vocation of winning souls for God instead of bringing religion to every issue. What is the essence of that shameful letter to the governor. Do they know the far reaching implications? I doubt if they are aware that being a Christian does not potend that one is honourable in the real sense of it. I hope they will be ready to write to every government that appoints Christians to different leadership positions. They have obviously lost their senses.

What religous colouration and ethnic jingoism is being brought to politics by fools n for what purpose is still much of an irritant to the mind when it has always been inconsequential in solving the real challenges of hunger n deprivation and total lack of vision n passion for d people by mad individuals who tend to ride on the treachery of dis rhetorics, fanned by morons for any reason best known to them...they just love feeding on d ignorance of most directionlessly ignorant nigerians. If you have been to ekiti, then you should know the Muslim population of the state is not up to 5%.

There is a lot of towns and villages in ekiti state, that you will find no mosques at all.
Do you mind those idiots called MURIC? Even the native Muslims have resigned to fate. A Muslim aspiring to be governor of Ekiti State is like a Christian aspiring to become Katsina or Kano State Governor.

Seunkings02:
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has reacted to the confirmation by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) that the Ekiti PDP deputy governorship candidate, Deji Ogunsakin is a Christian.

In a press release on Friday signed by its director and founder, the human rights organization stated that although Eleka’s running mate, Mr. Deji Hakeem Ogunsakin was born into a Muslim family, he converted to Christianity long ago and he is now a member of the RCCG.

MURIC said: “We have the proof. We have a copy of a letter addressed to Governor Ayodele Fayose thanking him for picking a member of the Christian denomination. This letter was printed on the letter-head of the Victory Chapel parish situated on Maiye Ogundana Street, Magodo, Shangisha, Lagos. It was duly signed by the pastor of the parish, Bayo Olugbemi.

“There is nothing wrong with being a Christian or a Muslim. There is also nothing wrong with voting for a Christian or Muslim candidate. But it is most shameful and outrageously dishonourable to deceive the public by hiding under the canopy of one religion to gain access to a public post knowing fully well that you are not what you claim to be. It is preposterous, disgusting and repulsive. Can we trust such people with the people’s mandate? Fayose has stolen the portion of Muslims in our common patrimony. It is an act of bad faith. It is dishonesty of the highest order.

“Nigerians can now see where Fayose is coming from and what he stands for. Ekiti people entered one chance the day Fayose was elected. This man is Mr. Jekyll and Hyde. You can never trust him. He perfected the plan to deceive Muslims in his state long ago. We remember how he appeared at the Id ground wearing turban on Salah day, complete with a rosary! But it was a grand display preparatory to this grand deceit. It will be remembered that we issued a statement at the time warning Ekiti Muslims that he was trying to deceive them. We are now vindicated. From now on, any Muslim who hobnobs with Fayose is on his own.

“The wind has blown. We have seen the ruff of the hen. Fayose’s trick has been uncovered. His days are numbered. Everyday is for the thief but just one day is for the owner. Fayose can run but he cannot hide. If he runs to the sea, the sea will be boiling. If he runs to the hills, the hills will be melting in a volcanic eruption. This man is a special study in Chamberlain’s five evils: brute force, bad faith, injustice, oppression and persecution”.

MURIC recalled its allegations against Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose who completely marginalized Muslims of his state by appointing no single Muslim as a commissioner or permanent secretary throughout his tenure.

“This man has shortchanged Ekiti Muslims. The only ‘Muslim’ good enough for Fayose is the one who converted to Christianity a long time ago. Muslims in Ekiti should therefore ‘shine their eyes’.

“We remind Fayose and his cohots of the words of Abraham Lincoln who said, ‘You can fool some of the people some of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time’. We warned ekiti Muslims when Fayose picked his ‘Muslim’ deputy for Eleka. We knew he had something up his sleeve. But now the game is up.

“Finally, we charge Ekiti Muslims to remember the hadith of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) ‘The signs of a hypocrite are three: he lies when he speaks; he reneges when he makes a pledge and he betrays when people trust him’. We must equally remember the words of Randal Terry ‘Fool me once, shame on you but fool me a second time, shame on me’.

“Fayose fooled you with his turban on Salah day, he is trying to fool you a second time with Eleka’s deputy whom he presented to you as a Muslim and you rejoiced. Will you allow him to fool you this second time? We leave you with another hadith of the Prophet (PBUH), ‘Wisdom is the property of Muslims’. We affirm that the freedom to choose folly is cheap, the will to be on the side of wisdom is worth a king’s ransom”, the Group added.

That's Fayose for you, the god of Ipob. We're not surprise at his antics to gain public sympathy. In fact, he can still pull any before tomorrow. I'm just waiting for Fayose's defeat and how he will take it. I recall that Fayemi congratulated him then. It's indeed a lesson to our politicians. Fayemi, as sitting governor, was caged in 2014 by Fayose, military, SSS, Police on the directive of Jonathan then. It's simply pay back period.

This is wrong.

Whether he deceived or not, allow God to judge.

Now you are asking Muslims not to associate with fayose again...aren't you working against the human right that stated 'freedom of association'?

You claim you are indifferent about religion but once an issue concerns Christians you stand right up to antagonize.

Is that your only aim in life

MURIC/MUMURIC please grow up and look for a way to assist Buhari your brother to pull out Nigeria out of this mess he created.

If it was a Christian president that ruled the way Buhari has been ruling I'm sure you would have fought until he's removed.

If Buhari and Fashola had contested the last elections, I won't have mind. But you have made a critical point about Representative government but you failed to realise for a big organization like Muric to raise that point when they have never raise that kind of point signified something bigger.

It signified they have made an enemy of PDP. It signified to them its no longer about issue but religion. It signified no matter who PDP presented they are no longer welcome in PDP and their demands will never be met. It signified a far-reaching consequence in the Southwest. Muslims will never vote PDP no matter how incompetent the opposition is. And Christians will never vote APC, no matter how incompetent the opposition is

If PDP don't retrace its step, they will never be able to win big again. And we'll all lose because we need a stronger opposition that can win big.
