I do not need to bore you with details of the world cup winning French squad and how a large percentage of the player are Africans.

Over centuries, the problem with Africa remains the same, her inability to manage her own resources,be it natural or human, her ineptitude in converting her natural resources to good use, her consistent dependence on the west to help her manage her own resource.

Africa's petroleum, gold, diamond etc comes to mind.
If Nigeria, Africa's biggest country can not refine its own petroleum or convert it's own cocoa to tea or chocolate after almost sixty years of Independence, relying on the west to convert and sell back to her, how then does anyone expect her to meet up with Europe's level of industrialization?

If Mbappe, Pogba et al were to remain in Africa to represent their different countries of birth, chances are that they would either be frustrated by greedy football federation officials or outrightly neglected for those who can pay their way into the national team, whoever is lucky enough to shine in Europe might end up financing the rest of national team same way Mikel Obi did when faced with imminent financial embarrassment due to the corruption of this same federation officials.

A certain Yoruba idiom says that if you give a mad man hoe to cultivate the ground, he would still make ridges in his own direction, this explains why the west continues to prosper at Africa's expense, on Africa's resources foolishly given, on Africa's manpower, on Africa's"sweat".

Will this continue for the next centuries? The answer, unfortunately, is YES, unless something drastic is done and Africa begins to manage her own resources and tell her own story (a matter for another day), a lesson or two from China's rise to industrialization will suffice.

It is well...

Africans should first get rid of corruption in football

I agree

But you can't single out football, corruption must be dealt with in all ramification
