I still don't understand why its so hard for the Lagos state government to take all these parked tankers & trailers off the bridges and major roads. I've never see this type of weakness from a Lagos State Governor sad

Check out thr major roads, from Onipanu, ojuelegba, down to Ijora & Apapa; Cele express to Mile2, Apapa, Orile-Mile2, thru Lagos badagry expressway, & all the major street inbetween this circle in areas like AJ city Orile and Wilmer are now filled with parked trailers & tankers.

People lose their jobs, spend hours in traffic daily, & d govt doesnt give a ****. Should we all wait until a major disaster of Bridge Collapse occurs?

This is coming from a man seeking re-election in less than a year....i wonder how his second term wld be like sad

Nairalanders, what do you think should be done??

EKO TI BAJE TAUN!!

So , without providing alternative route , Ambode should just ban all trailers from plying lagos roads

Do you even know why those trailers are parked ?? Have you read about congestion in Lagos Port ??

Do you know if those trailers and tankers parked because Ambode recently restricted their movement to Night only ??

And when he takes all those parked trailers and tankers off the bridges where will he keep them ?

Until there is an alternative, this will continue

FG needs to start laying pipes to supply stations in state clusters or regions where tankers can lift.

FG also has the option of subjecting the railways working at the moment to fuel transport as opposed to moving humans.

Nigeria never does anything right until disasters happen and force the masses to make noise before the government does anything.

Nigeria is a useless country.

You are not in any other country

The facilities where other countries park their vehicles were never built in Nigeria or maybe 16 years of rot made it disappear , either way it's stupid to try to enforce the reality of '' any other country'' to that of Nigeria

As everyone said the drivers don't have alternative so state lets them slide. I had same question and thats answer everyone gave me. The state could fine the truck drivers and tow the vehicle off road. If they refuse to comply the vehicle gets auctioned off and they get arrreted. I qould assume they would start considering building truck stops or some alternative if available.

When Fashola was there, he was able to manage the situation. In organised places, the minister in charge, MD of NPA, & Lagos state govt shld hav been kicked out by now.... Imagine is there is any emergncy situation along this axis..... Its gonna be really terrible!

Pipelines already exist the issue is people vandalize them. NRC has 40 bought tank wagons and allows oil marketers to supply their own wagons. The marketers are slow to change their business model.

The answer is very simple: over 90% of the tankers and trailers are owned by the hausas and the Yoruba govt in Lagos don't want to upset them by forcing them out of the road. If those trailers are owned by the Igbos, the Lagos state govt would have acted very swifty by quoting section XYZ of Lagos trafik laws in order to kick them out. I won't be surprised if the state govt is even providing security for these trailers.

Igbos are yet to understand the social behaviors of Afonjas and that's their (Igbos) greatest weakness in the Nigeria's politico-economic equation.

The government have failed on the part of providing adequate railway and pipeline for the transportation of crude oil and other goods in which the trailers carry plus the population lagos is meant to be congested with all this
