what's the point of this I ask

if intending priests can't be trusted to write their exams without cheating then what is the need of even writing exams.

For the invigilators to arrange them this way it means that many have cheated in the past.

so I ask again what's the point ?

The time has come for churches to get rid of all these hard and fast rules for testing pastors and subscribe more to the guidance of the holy spirit.

imagine if Paul and barnabas had to write exams before they were sent to preach to the gentiles.
imagine if Jesus made all his disciples write exams before picking twelve of them . I am sure Judas the treasurer and the man highly skilled in matters of investment would have passed in flying colours and peter the "over sabi "man would have failed woefully .
or if David had to write an exam before he was picked among his brothers to be king of Israel.

I remember my pastor once told us how during his final year exams in Bible school another pastor was asking him for answers.lol

we need to return to the ways of the spirit and leave all this nonsense

by seminary school, it doesn't mean that those boys will end up becoming priests.
it only means that the school is owned by the school, just like navy school or army sec secondary school is owned by the forces and the students going there necessarily won't become force ones

It is not a seminary school. It is simply a seminary. You made good points... However the seminary serves as a formation house for intending priests.
Of course this doesn't mean they will all become priests
