Members of the House of Representatives are currently collating a list of members that will possibly leave Nigeria’s ruling party, APC.
Razak Atunwa, Ali Madaki and Abdulsamad Dasuki, all elected under the platform of APC, are spearheading the move.
Sources among the defecting lawmakers told PREMIUM TIMES there are about 100 names on the list. This could not be independently confirmed.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, is expected to make the announcement of the defections before the end of plenary on Tuesday.
Fifteen senators earlier defected from the APC.
The House plenary was ongoing at the time of this report.

All these defections of 2018 and before in 2014 just makes a mockery of the Nigerian political party space. Should Buhari be booted out next year, expect the next cycle of defection in 2022.

Seriously speaking,

90 percent of the legislators have got very little or no political value.

They òwe their popularity to the President and the state governors.

PMB has nothing much to worry about.

As long as they don't achieve the two-thirds majorities in both houses.

All the President needs to worry about is the state governors.

If APC is able to keep the entire 26 governors they have now on their side,

Nothing to lose sleep over.

Much ado about nothing.

I disagree, I think he failed because he didn't know what he wants and surrounded himself with clueless advisers with archaic mentality. One thing I learnt from Fashola's administration in Lagos especially during his first tenure is Prioritising Service to the people First and all others will follow.

NASS is another arm of the government and not a stooge to executive. Buhari needed not involve in their election, he should have instead worked harmoniously with whoever won but instead he had predetermined in his mind never to work with Saraki as SP or Dogara as a spaker

Buhari failed he day he started his witch-hunting and attacks on perceived political enemies and people with different opinion. He is always swift to call Judiciary and legislative corrupt whenever they don't dance to his tunes. He started his raid on judiciary and then legislatives, hope you remember that DSS raid?

Be sincere with yourself, Would Saraki be able to call his trial a politically motivated if Buhari's fight against corruption is holistic?

So many cases of corruption involving Buhari's cronies are being. swept under the carpet but Buhari only has erection when it involves Saraki or any of his political enemies.
