Majority of these defectors from the north are elected because they are in the same party with BUHARI, not because they have any political influence. Let me say this, most of them will not come back to their seat after 2019 election.

Kwankwanso Popularity in Kano gave APC edge during last election. Lets see how they are going to rig election in Kano as Kwakwanso has left them.

Tell me Tambuwal is not popular too. Those are the people northerners followed to APC.

PDP's majority is very slim if truly they even have the majority. There is no way they will get 73 senators to impeach the president. It is never going to happen.

Don't be in a rush just watch and see cheesy grin

With what Buhari did today. It shows he is the most stewpid politician in Nigeria. Even a local government chairman will not do that.

He shot himself and played into Saraki's hand.

He made Saraki popular and people are now seeing him as a smart guy.

Illiteracy is a disease.
He did not make Saraki popular. We all know those Senators were going to defect before. The signs were there.

When was the last time this Kwankwanso was in Kano? I read sometime ago that he has been unable to enter Kano for 2yrs

Tambuwal is a godson to Wammako, and used Wammako machinery and Buharis popularity to become givernor Wamako is just waiting for Tambuwal to defect before he replaces him with another person

Same with Ortom who used Akume machinery into governor seat, He is now lamenting that the owner of the structure that made him governor has taken it

This your comment is a big joke my brother.. How many votes does Buhari had in the previous election before the almgamation and forming of APC.. All consistency matters in politics, some politican who are even unknown before after cling the seat of power definitely they started gaining ground.. 2019 election will be funny. APC will need to buy several votes to win the presidential seat.

I said most not all, and what you don't know is that, with or without kwankwaso BUHARI can win kano hands down. For tambuwal, ask people that stays in the North, he has little or no influence. Morever, if buhari can still have the backing of the southwest he will surely win again.

Are you kidding me? Even strong PDP members in Sokoto state led by Senator Wali are warming up to defect to APC if PDP make the mistake of handing over the party structure to Tambuwal. Senator Wamako is currently the most prominent political leader in Sokoto state and he's the one pushing Tambuwal out of APC. Tambuwal is a light weight politician with no grass root support and also seen as a serial betrayal.

I agreed that APC amalgamation is what made buhari won 2015 election. What you failed to understand is that Buhari has won Northwest, northeast and some part of northcentral even prior to 2015 election. Like i said before, the only thing that can stop his reelection is if southwest decided to withdraw their alliance with Buhari.

You have forgotten the following states. Adamawa, Sokoto, Taraba, Plateau, Benue...all angry with APC/Fulanis. A vote for Buhari is a vote for herdsmen...the scale is tilting.

Kwankwanso has a very strong support base in Kano. Stop rubbishing all politicians thats not in APC. Accept APC is going down.

let me do the math for you, buhari will win morethan 80% of votes in the whole of northwest, apart from taraba (which he will still get morethan the 25% needed), he will still win morethan 65-75% of votes in the northeast, with the way things are he can still get morethan 50% of votes in every state in the southwest, for northcentral, he will struggle to get 25% in benue but can get morethan 25% in Plateau and over 40% in kogi, kwara and the F.C.T

If Kwankwanso cannot visit his state for almost 2yrs what do you think is happening to that base? Who is mobilizing and financing them

There are some strong politicians and there are paperweight politicians. In PDP there are strong grassroots politician like Fayose, Akpabio, Saraki and there are paperweights like Dino Shehu Sani and Tambuwal

If you as a governor have a godfather thats stronger than you then you are a lightweight, I can tell you in Lagos politics Fashola Ambode are lightweights even though they are in APC

He is making sure 3 northern presidential candidates contests against Buhari. At the end of the day, Nothern votes will be divided and wasted. Whoever is popular in the South South and South East wins. ANd we know Buhari is not popular amoung Christians victims of Fulani carnage.

Yoruba land is divided. SO votes will be wasted in South west too.

No one among those candidates can even win his own state if he is to contest the presidency with PMB, FYI even in the south south buharo will still get more than 25% in edo and rivers, votes will be divided also in the east. I am confident that only the west can stop pmb reelection

I don't see Buhari loosing the 2019 election.

APC may lose Benue and Kwara, .

The states of NW and SW are on locked down for this president.

Victory is also sure for Buhari in Nasarawa, Edo, Bornu, Bauchi and Yobe.

He will share Imo and Rivers with his closest rival.

This president will coast to victory irrespective of the defection of senators and representatives who had lost the party tickets already.

APC wishes its as simple as you have stated here
seunmsg:
Today's defection changes absolutely nothing in the race to 2019. Most lawmakers are light weight politicians who got elected either through the magnanimity of their governor or through a sweeping wave of support for their party. Even Saraki, the grand puppeteer of the puppet lawmakers that decamped refused to follow them. We all know that the governors hold all the aces when it comes to mobilizing for the general election.

Saraki played all his cards today and it will come to haunt him. Senators that are still in APC can no longer openly support him with what happened today. All pretenses to negotiations and discussions is now over. Henceforth, it's a battle to finish. APC has enough time to assess the situation and deal with him appropriately. With the defection also comes serious internal problem for PDP. Many disgruntled PDP members who would be disatisfied with the preference given to the defectors may move to APC. APC can even lobby some PDP lawmakers to their camp before senate resumes plenary in September. If well managed, i see APC having the last laugh over today's defection.

Re: Can PMB Still Win 2019 Election by rajiraymond(m): 4:28pm On Jul 24, 2018
Very sure, because you cannot tell all these Senator have power to deliver their state aside Saraki, no one else.
The show has not started yet, when it starts you will see crossing back to APC.
All I see is that PDP is desperate, it claims it merges with other 38 parties and awards automatic tickets to all decampees, do you think those other margin parties will be happy?
