Sounds like mastitis, take ibuprofen for the pain and express or offer your babies the affected breast more so they can help you unclog the blocked duct. Or see your doctor as soon as possible.

I think she should see a doctor my sister. Just to be be sure after checking out through test.

Hope you have had it already?

Speedy recovery to darling Oyin and please cheer up.

I saw this somewhere when I was in the East, for those who don't want to do those other types of family planning can consider this method

To me calamine lotion doesnt work. If she is itching please get ori. Chicken pox os air borne, she atimes she doesnt need to mix up with other kids before having it. My daughter contacted it when she wasn't going out except church.

Focus on the drugs, but she's supposed to be given injections for like two days before the drugs. My daughter had it the first hospital gave us drugs with that calamine lotion and that made it came out so bad. We had to visit another clinic, and the doctor there was mad the other people treated it the way they did, that calamine lotion will not help a baby. My daughter received 8 injections at once and she slept for 8 straight hours, they gave her one injection to stop the itch and in less than 5 mins she stopped itching n crying. She continued with it the next day and was discharge fully bouncing the following day.

We wanted his brother vaccinated immediately but was advised never until after a week and no symptoms of chicken pox. Immediately 7 days reach and no chicken pox for him, i ran to vaccinate against chicken pox cos i cant stand him again having it. The experience for his sister wasn't funny.

To me, calamine lotion doesnt work, if after 24 hours your baby isnt getting better please request he's given injection dose of those drugs.(in our case we used a different clinic and they used different injections/drugs).

I wish her quick recovery.

I can't remember the exact words of the doc, but she said something like they don't give antibiotics or injection to infants anyhow at that age cos while it would clear off the infection, it would also kill some good bacteria and cells, thereby weakening the baby's immune system. She said their body would naturally fight it off, so she only gave me drugs to stop the spread, itch and for relief. Calamine lotion, ampiclox, piriton, and paracetamol.

When she explained this, I was kinda skeptical. still skeptical cos the bumps still looks about the same. If by tomorrow, it doesn't reduce, I'll go back. But I hope it doesn't get to that. The good thing is she is still very much active and playful, doesn't act like someone that has chicken pox. And it's only spread on her arms and legs, and few on her face.

This is actually inaccurate. Chicken pox is viral and like all viral infections (most types of cough, cattarh, HIV - bad example but you get my drift etc) the only drugs given are to manage the symptoms, they run their course and go away when they are done

Booqee if your baby isn't uncomfortable/itchy/feverish, just use what you're given...chicken pox should go in a week maximum. Please try not to apply all sorts of things so you don't end up with spots that won't go, also reduce bathing to once a day (if at all) till it goes. If she's uncomfortable or shows any other symptoms like olubankemi described, then see a doctor

PraisesG:

Chickenpox has a drug, please visit another hospital,

Your Dr is absolutely correct.
Chickenpox has no drug, the only time they bombard with all those injection is when it is accompanied with high fever or malaria. If not, leave it, it will go.
Don't be in a hurry to see the pox gone. It takes up to a week.
Continue to use the calamine lotion to help with itching same with piriton. The ampiclox is antibiotics and unnecessary to me sef, paracetamol is to help with fever.
Muna had this at 6m, we just stayed home and rubbed calamine lotion. Its a very fair skin ailment compared to measles. That one na baba
