If you say you have not heard about any work of Wole then you are being mischievous. Besides, you need to get familiar with the calibre of people who have won Nobel prize for literature before then you will understand why Achebe couldn't win it.
Can you without using Google give the name of a book written by any other Nobel prize winner?

Growing up, my initial knowledge of Wole was that of a playwright. Later, I started reading prose written him and much later poems. Soyinka has great works in those three areas of literature. I can't remember any play written by Achebe. He was just a very narrow man whose only major expressions are in prose. Soyinka cut across all the areas of literature. He is a great playwright, writer and poet.

Some of you just think "Things Fall Apart " should get Achebe Nobel prize and I laugh.

Winning a Nobel prize is not a popularity contest of the novels you write. If it is so, hundreds or even thousand of people would have won it. There are many great writers like William Faulkner, George Orwell, Ernest Hemingway who wrote some of the most popular literary works of all time, yet ,they were not awarded the prize. Winning the prize is deeper and in fact the works of many of the winners are usually not easily digestible by a "regular Joe" the way "Things Fall Apart" is. They are usually works digestible by very smart minds. A common attribute of winners is deeply rooted in poetry which some like you can't even digest. Try and check the list of all winners of Nobel Prize for Literature and their attributes, then you will have a clue as to why Achebe could never have won it.

Thank God the award is not a Nigerian award, people like you would have said that the Yoruba and Fulani conspired against you because they hate Igbos.

If you wake up Achebe again he will still not smell that award.
