This greedy govt did not promise them money, go and read youwin connect website. I have always told them but they kept on arguing even during the training. Now they are protesting. Protesting for what? What they did was youwin connect equity funding and it is the youwinconnect series funding that they will be given money and it has not start yet. Go to their website and read the information there no money was promised.

2017YouWiNners:
Participants of 2017 YouWiN connect, a youth empowerment scheme organized by the federal government through the Federal Ministry of Finance are currently holding a protest at the federal ministry of finance in Abuja to voice out their grievances with the federal ministry of finance for promising to fund their businesses during the application process in June 2017 which saw over 200,000 hard working Nigerian Youth but 5,000 emerged winners after series of online exams and screening.

To our greatest surprise, the federal ministry of finance turned around to claim that they never promised to fund our businesses. They only issued us certificates. For crying out loud, most of us are graduates who needed funds to grow and expand our businesses to create employment. YouWiN connect certificates alone cannot do that!

Please show solidarity by moving this thread to front page so that Nigerians will know the truth about 2017 YouWiN connect. Nigerian youths are not lazy!
We are entrepreneurs!!

So even the YouWin scheme they have been going about, brandishing as an achievement of this administration is also a scam? Everything about this govt is a scam! There is no truth in them; from buhari to the least of them.
Lalasticlala, I think this deserves the front page to bring to the knowledge of the world what these youths are going through.
I can bet you that some big wigs and members of buhari's cabal have decided to divert the funds meant for this project and decide instead to create a brazen lie that money was never promised. The nation will be shocked when they realize the level of corruption taking place under buhari's govt

they actually thought they will get a grant in the end.....people really get distracted and that is what gives the government an edge to exploit them.

I told them that they will not give grant because it is youwinconnect "equity" funding and not youwinconnect "series funding" this government modified almost everything about youwin but they were too lazy to read. Now that they have come to know they are now doing useless and meaningless protest and demonstration.
Who told them Buhari will hear them? Buhari has ear problem so they should stop wasting their precious time.

I think that is what they will get except the government will play politics by giving grants but let us be honest didn't the graduates ask questions about the program or do just a little investigation to know what the outcome will be in the end......

Whr is sarrki and mannabbq i definitely would love to read ur reply. I just want a young and vibrant president not Atiku and definitely not Buhari. I would prefer to vote any other person with a listening ear than buhari. Im just getting fed up with Nigeria. This was the same complaint they brought up when nacroon visited Nigeria yet it still hasnt been sorted. Does our president not have advisers? Does he just like making mistakes? If i were buhari i would summon the finnace minister and the d.g if you win to pacify the aggrieved members. But buhari would not do anything. He dosent even know how to act sef .. Smh

I didn't know if Youwin Connect were promised money or not, but all your links above are about Jonathan's Youwin scheme third batch which Buhari's administration agreed to settle them after their protest which he did.
This one is about Youwin Connect 2017, they are not the same thing.

Just because I tried to explain to someone that the links he posted weren't about your own struggle (Youwin Connect 2017) but that of your predecessors (Youwin, third phase under Jonathan). So, I automatically became your enemy, enemy of progress.

Okay now, why don't you just bend down and start picking money on the streets of Abuja or, break into the CBN's vaults? Ode osi, mtchewwww!

Why should buhari pay for jonathan's wasteful experiment okonjo spent 60 millioin dollars on this project, and buhari has spent less on N-power, benefitting almost a million nigerians. they should transfer them to n-power immediately

The only way Nigeria moves forward is to focus on one thing at a time, if not, there will be too much promises and less of it fulfilled.

Sorry Dear, but you didn't make any sense.
With due respect.

These youths were taken for a rough ride. Months of online training involving expenditures such as of data purchase, online activities and trips. Transportation and research.

After all the rigour, 5000 were selected and declared WINNERS.

We all know what was promised to the youths before they embanked on the competition, the amounts promised.

How comes the WINNERS only got certificates.
Were they promised to compete and win certificates?

You are correct.
But its just because of their incompetence. How can a country truly move forward without empowering her youths?
Ours is to promise and retract their words in a bid to frustrate the youths.

As leaders, their bad policies led to millions loosing their paid jobs. Is it too much to empower 5000 youwinners whom your ministry of finance has declared "Winners"?

They are proud the youths have been issued certificates.

LETS JOIN HANDS AND PRAY FOR NEW NIGERIA FOR GOD AND FOR YOUTHS 2019.

let me make it more clearer to all 5,000 winners of YouWin connect. As a serial entrepreneur and beneficiary of 10M YouWin 3 program, Jonathan led YouWin Program is called 'YouWin' one of the brightest idea from honorable Ma Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. Buhari led YouWin program is called YouWinconnect' as coined from Jonathan brand name, but was with different model their similarities was in human capacity training. Jonathan led government called her training 'Bootcamping', Buhari called her training online in class training. Both programs treated the same course topics on business courses. Jonathan's program where based on seed funding grant after successfully passing through stage 1(concept idea submission),stage 2 in which physical training was carried out in the 6 geopolitical zones followed by online submission by the trainees and lastly was oral physical defense( stage 3)in order to ensure that the right quality seasoned winners (entrepreneurs)are selected and also to checkmate impersonation among the beneficiaries while in Buhari YouWin connect was only stage 1 (concept idea submission)and stage 2 (online training and online submission) of which they will link the trainees to fund manager inform of equity contribution NOT GRANT or LOAN. Both the Jonathan led government and this buhari government issued the trainees business certificates after the training.
Note: Do you know that Federal Government under Jonathan and world bank contributed the grant provided from 2012-2014 for 3years MOU signed With swiss bank in Geneva. Secondly these funds were kept in coffers to be distributed to awardees after achieving their business milestones, we the beneficiaries having known this from onset, that was why we protested in this Buhari led Federal government to pay us the remainder money or else we shall write to World bank to withdraw all her assisted programs in Nigeria. After some memos from us to World bank that the Buhari led government is blackmailing the grant project which the world bank contributed 80% of the grant funding, the world bank wrote to this Present Government that they must release those funds or else they will stop all their programs in Nigeria, and such My honorable minister for finance Mrs kemi Adeosun has to pay us the remainder without any further argument. This is the only reason why we were paid.
sometime in last year this present Government invited most of the beneficiaries to explain how the program were run by Jonathan administration after which it was coined 'YouWinconnect'.
Do you also remember that there was Youwin4 applicants. We all know that it was a bid for Jonathan's 2nd term in office. As My hero lost the presidential election YouWin 4 became dead. YouWin 4 was not in line with MOU signed with world bank, it was for only 3 editions (Youwin1,Youwin2,Youwin3).
So Buhari led government came in, there was no good ground to meet world bank for another YouWin grant editions. but so many Nigerians was commenting positively on the laudable youth program and advised them not to scrap it so they rebranded it as YouWin connect with objective of capacity training and equity contribution by fund managers.
Thanks for your time.
