How abdominal cerclage works
The goal of cerclage is to hold the cervix closed. This allows the baby to fully develop before leaving the womb. Abdominal cerclage is done when other procedures to close the cervix have failed(TVC) Transvaginal cerclage. It is done at about week 12 of pregnancy. The doctor reaches the cervix through the abdomen. The cervix is then stitched closed. Following the procedure, you must give birth by cesarean. Future births will also need to be cesarean.

Hi Sis, did you get the info you need on the TAC.? We have some Drs who perform the TAC not just in Lagos. Most Drs don't recommend the TAC and may only do that at the request of the patient, prolly because of the expertise required or reasons best known to them. But if you still interested in the info you could pm me or write the questions right here. Most people do not openly want to talk about IC esp african women may be because its not yet well understood or they think'its from the village'and don't understand why it keeps happening.
