Oh i see. I think sometimes, it kinda doesn't work that way. My eligibility didn't even start even after i got an approval. I think they don't follow these rules sometimes. If your application stays for weeks, there's a very high chance that your eligibility review already started, even if they don't update it, otherwise, i don't know under what basis they would deny an application if they don't check for eligibility.

In rare situations that you describe, the system can go completely out of wack and not start the eligibility review. It’s possible.

Bro, that application was approved in 2weeks!!! This one no be matter of PHD na, i know someone here that got an approval after the 11th week, and it was PHD.
We can't take away the fact that some applicants are blessed and lucky and some have their applications well done. Even masters here got in 3weeks.

I think this is just hope for the ones that may think it's too late. There's still time and i wish everyone the best.

Cheers

Exactly.

You can apply anytime and the High Commission will give you the visa if you qualify. However, you are not allowed to travel to Canada too early except you have good reason to travel early. If you are coming one year to resumption, the officer at POE might rightfully suspect you of coming to Canada to work illegally and deny you entry. A visa from Nigeria is not a guarantee of entry to Canada. The real permission is granted by officer inspecting you at airport or border. It’s okay to travel a few months before resumption and if asked you can say you came to be acclimated to your new environment. But travelling a year before school starts, what would be your good reason? That you came to cram the entire syllabus before professor has opened mouth to teach one word? Be careful!! Don’t do things that would make you be barred from Canada or jeopardize your chances of obtaining residency there should you decide to eventually want to live there. A word is enough for the wise.

Thank you for your time and advice, but since my admission has been deferred to September 2019, let’s say April/ May won’t be too early entering Canada?

Mr Man why r u so much in a hurry? If u are resuming September, late July or August should be ur departure time if u dont want wahala with the POE Officers. Except you have a tangible and convincing reason. Good luck

It will be okay. Three months to resumption is reasonable to justify that you came to acclimate to your new environment before the start of classes.

Hey guys, is it too late to apply for Saskatchewan's graduate masters program beginning in January. Applied to Manitoba and I'm still awaiting their decision. Just think its wise to have at least 2 options.

Deadline should be clearly stated on the website of your intended program
But yes now is a good time .

The course (Msc Nutrition) actually does not have deadline as they accept applications on a rolling basis.

Hi guys, i just want to make a contribution as regarding some applications getting approved under 4 weeks, i'm a living witness to this. After previous delay, i repackaged and i got my application approved in 3 weeks 5 days and yes it was from Lagos visa office because of the correspondent i received when i got my package back from VFS. A monicker by drhammed mentioned here yesterday that some applications are treated in Lagos, he is very right. I think Lagos VOs do reply to application on time, be it an approval or a delay. Lagos VOs are more favourable in approving applications from the look of things.

In conclusion, no one knows the main reason why they route some applications to different visa offices like Nairobi Kenya, Accra Ghana, Dubai, London and even Mali for Nigerian applicants.

Always remain prayerful so as to meet favour in the sight of the visa officers.
Monday is a public holiday in Canada and this is applicable to VFS as well i think, not 100% sure.
Happy weekend guys.

Good day everyone, my visa was denied last month, and my school starts September 4. It’s obvious I can’t meet up so I asked for a defer, unfortunately for me the next intake in my course is till September 2019.

My Question is, if I should get the school defer letter of 2019 now, can I apply now ? How early can I apply? Will the embassy refuse because of the date is far? I wouldn’t mind being in Canada ,working or doing any skill am good in, while I wait for my school to start in September 2019.

Thanks
You can apply for your TRV against fall 2019 now and it won't be a propblem. But it is not advisable to start working before your school resume.
My advise to you is first request for your GCMS file now(since you still have time), take time to perfect all your flaws(after going through your GCMS file) and reapply. Once you secure TRV you can wait till let's say 2 months to resumption then you travel.

I agree to the bolded. They are new, just started issuing visas out of Lagos and still favorably disposed towards goodwill.

Goodmorning House!

This Canada visa process gets tiring by the day. As much as I try not to let it get more than the thought it deserves, I cant help but still worry.
My app has been in process since May. Eligibility review started early June and till now no update. My CSE was replied by the Kenya Visa Office with the usually response that my app is under active review and since then nothing.

My dilemma right now is that I have a Visa interview at the German embassy by month end, and my passport is being held by the canada office. I wouldnt want to withdraw my app, but then, I also wouldnt want to miss the interview at the German embassy if Canada wouldnt grant me a visa. Its a tough call for me at this point but I think I should still give them some time before taking any steps.

So y'all June/July applicants, I think U need to take a chill pill cos May guyz are observing from a corner.

having similar issue. so confused

My fear is that those VFS workers can't be trusted, mostly those ones in Lagos, i pray they respect themselves now that Lagos is issuing study visa.

VFS workers are not trained to issue visas. Their work is more of an intermediary paper work mache. The job of issuing visas is relegated to a trained Canadian consular Officer.

It was a paper application. What i did differently was to write a well detailed SOP and i paid my 1st year tuition. These VOs can be funny atimes, after i ordered my GCMS and i saw the main reason for the delay, i was mad with the visa officer. Having your parent has your sponsor with a statement account balance of 14million and i had a personal account of 2million. The VO clearly stated on the GCMS that i wouldn't be able to pay for tuition without having to work hence insufficient funds. These Visa officers never take their time to vet the documents you submit to them. Main reason y'all need to be prayerful.

Good evening House,

My application was refused last month and I intend to reapply after receiving my GCMS report probably by the end of this month or early sept.

My question is that can I still use the bank statement I used earlier, it's six month statement of account from Dec 2017 to May 2108.

I want to reapply early sept or late August.

Thanks .

The paper work they do plays an important role in the final decision.

Well you can print a new one if it's convenient depending on the reasons for your previous refuser, focus more on your refuser reasons as the era of insufficient fund has passed

What paperwork? Say what you know man! VFS does no paperwork for applicants. Their role starts and ends as a 3rd party service provider where they receive and transmit visa application documents to Consulates for onward processing!

If you were have not been called for medicals,I'm afraid it isn't looking good. Your application most likely is refused. You will need to get your returned passport as well as the letter attached to know the reason(s) for the refusal.

It is written on their website that they do not have any role to play in the issuance of visa. I mean everyone knows this.
