Quite standard prices.

In my case, bamboo was #300 each.
I dont expect you to use more than 300 as Domminionng said but you can even use less than this value (at least 35% less), if a section of the house was first completed and the Bamboo moved to the other side of the building (as long as thee work is done immediately without allowing the bamboo to get wet and dry over and over again).
My labour (to erect, remove and erect again and finally remove all after plastering and then painting), all amounted to 75K.
I saved alot on bamboo but paid a little more on Labour. Overall, l saved a lt of coins.

You just have to negotiate with the Carpenter and enusre you pay him in phases, as each section of Bamboo is erected and removed otherwise, arguement can start.

It's your next sentence that made mention of "clay soil on a foundation ", is a no no.

Probably I don't grasp your use of English, you're now referring to erecting a building on clay soil.


And these buildings you posted, do the down not form as a basement?

Let's keep the grasp of English simple then: we should run away from clayey soil type. But if we are unfortunately saddled with a clayey soil, we MUST conquer the clay first before laying foundation.

No those buildings posted have no basement, just normal foundation experiencing movements. The pix are photos depiction of underpinnings: dig beyond the existing foundation and beam it underneath section by section.

Thanks brother. I have 4 bedroom duplex (4rooms) and double 2bedroom flat all attached together. Are the blocks all 9 inches. How many 9 or 6 inches block will finish same of coverage area of 254 square meter. I have mould over 4,500 of 9inches blocks and still moulding 9. based on your qs quote. Whats the quantity if 9inches and six inches that we I'll finish all the block work in the building. Thanks

QS independent report states 5000 blocks for foundation to window level.
builder says from experience i shud budget 3000 blocks, though he may need more.....

NO Sir. I will advise you to do the POP before tiling. POP is a messy job.
And please try to fix all your leaks before doing the POP too, if not you will have waste of money.

Anyway, anybody wey see my hand for steptiles or metcopo again, abeg give me 12 lashes with koboko. Take pepper rub the koboko first.

I think introducing columns now with the starter rod sawn off is just cosmetic. You may get away with all round chaining at lintel level and chain again after leveling. But bounce this off a structural engineer. Don't go DIY.

please, don't use parapet on a building without columns(pillars),human lives might be lost when it collapses from excessive weight. just roof and leave it at that.

Do I Chisel and link the new pillars rods with the DPC mat or just seat it on the German floor and cast as suggested by my engineer. The building is a bungalow by the way and had existing pillars from the foundation. Thank you in advance

Your deck is cantilevered, you shouldn't have cut off the rods, there is a way u bend it, a continuation from d foundation on external which ought to serve as support for d parapet.

Hello house, I'm back with my determination of appropriate pricing again oh. My electrician brother is at it again. I am trying to wire the first and pent floor of a duplex and the man won't give me an idea on his workmanship. Left to him, he could do it free of charge. I was guided here on what to pay him when he laid the conduit pipes.

The first floor has 3 bedrooms and a sitting room while the pent floor has 2 bedrooms and a sitting room. Each room has about 4 electric sockets and the wiring includes TV antenna and CCTV.

Please what sounds good as workmanship for this level of work? Just wiring, no electrical fittings yet.

Please help.
