Ngokafor:I am not a tribal person I have written that simply out of curiosity because it seems like they are not going to present anything in the exhibition, otherwise the article should have mentioned it. Tickets are sold for such events world over and people can buy such tickets to attend as tourist. it will be great for our educational sector, if the governments officials of any state decides to sponsor students to experience such events as alleged by the article. Maybe you should answer my question without seeing everything through a tribal viewpoint |

ollah2: A hateful heart is a WASTE of space! My honest observation is, that person is MENTALLY ILL. The greatest of problem is that this forum called NL is fast becoming a breeding ground for the MENTALLY ILL, suffering from chronic bigotry and so fill with hate. Then, holistically, it's all an outcrop of the disease called DEMOCRACY. |

OGHENAOGIE: So, tell us about HIS-STORY, the one that counters what I have already described above since you are the one with sense and knowledge. We are waiting........please let it be INTELLECTUAL, for it is a common practice here that people who have no intelligent thing to say are fond of INSULTS instead of going back to school to learn. |

OGHENAOGIE: It still remains HIS-STORY, story by Frederick, a point you the knowledgeable one should have grasped. So tell us a summary of HIS-STORY and how it contradicts the facts I had written. All you need do is make excerpts, THATS ALL YOU NEED DO, instead of telling me to go read a book tell us about what you have yourself read PLEASE I BEG OF YOU. And how is Jide's story the real story?! Tell us how? OGHENAOGIE, "Our ignorance can be divided into problems and mysteries. When we face a problem, we may not know its solution, but we have insight, increasing knowledge, and an inkling of what we are looking for. When we face a mystery, however, we can only stare in wonder and bewilderment, not knowing what an explanation would even look like." Noam Chomsky. The Nigerian case is not a Mystery, but a man made Problem which solution starts with 'You' and 'I' to become HONEST and DISCIPLINED in our own Domain. FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF US IS A LEADER AND HAS A ROLE TO PLAY IN THE PROCESS TOWARDS ALL MANIFESTATIONS. THE FATHER, THE TEACHER, THE CAPTAIN,..........THE QUEEN.........'EVERYONE'. THERE IS DEFINATELY A ROLE WE ALL PLAY WHICH UPON OUR DECISIONS AS LEADERS, THE LIVES OF OTHERS ARE DESTROYED OR MADE TO BLOSSOM. ITS HOW THIS VORTEX WORKS, THE DYNAMICS OF INTER-DEPENDENCY AND THE TRANSMUTATION OF ROLES. "One for All, all for one". Remain blessed. |

OGHENAOGIE: So what happened to his supporting a ' UNITED NIGERIA' to his becoming a major leader in NIGERIA'S DISTABILIZATION, an ambition which glory was quenched by the GALLANT NIGERIAN ARMY and with a Christian by the Name Yakubu Gowon as the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces. I hope you can see that, even at that, the Commander in Chief that fought for the unity of Nigeria was a Christian. My whole point is very simple and straightforward, UNLESS we stop being NARROW MINDED, stop being allowed to be driven by religious and ethnic sentiments but playing our roles by our pledge to be "FAITHFUL, LOYAL AND HONEST". This land of diverse BEAUTIFUL people and most populous country of the black race so blessed with brains and all that makes a great nation will remain or better say continue in the gutters of poverty, insecurity and instability. Until our psyche is changed to one of optimism and DELIBERATE actions are made by all for PEACE, PROSPERITY AND UNITY. I was only responding to the commenter in the language that has made a mental illness of that person. TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR SELF. And lastly, find time to read the book written by the founding father of a today classed as a first world country, Singapore. The title of the book is 'From 3rd to 1st WORLD'. Pay attention to what this great leader had to write about Nigeria and Africa as a whole. You can as well try to lay your hands on the documentary, still on Singapore title: FORGING A NATION. |

WORDWORLD:glad for d reply I ll try to look out for d documentary... Since I can easily get dat but like u said ethno religiousity is only an elitist tool used to divide d unsuspecting uneducated illiterate Nigerian...how many pple knew murtala Mohammed father had his origin in auchi edo state only married his Kano wife after he was adopted in Kano see d fine soldier murtala became... Imagine a Nigeria wer ur origin doesn't matter but ur capacity to perform... Imagine a Nigeria wer we cease giving recourse to religion.. in national issues.... Perhaps it's still utopia.... All d same I ll like to keep in touch it's been a gruelling intellectual discourse...if 60 percent of Nigerians can engage issues with our leaders and elites I guess rascality as we are witnessing today will be reduced to the bearest minimum thks |

OGHENAOGIE GOOD MORNING. From Third World to First, an autobiography of the founding father of Singapore. The late Lee Kuan Yew wrote this BRUTAL TRUTH. "On the culture of coups in the 1960s: I was not optimistic about Africa. In less than 10 years after independence in 1957, Nigeria had had a coup and Ghana a failed coup. I thought their tribal loyalties were stronger than their sense of common nationhood. On Chief Festus, Nigeria’s finance minister, in 1966: The night before the meeting, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Belewa gave us a banquet in the hotel. Raja and I were seated opposite a hefty Nigerian, Chief Festus, their finance minister. The conversation is still fresh in my mind. He was going to retire soon, he said. He had done enough for his country and now had to look after his business, a shoe factory. As finance minister, he had imposed a tax on imported shoes so that Nigeria could make shoes … I went to bed that night convinced that they were a different people playing to a different set of rules. On Krobo Edusei, Ghana’s minister for presidential affairs, in 1966: On our arrival at Accra, the person who came up to the aircraft to greet me was Krobo Edusei, the minister for presidential affairs. He had gained notoriety as a corrupt minister who had bought himself a golden bedstead, a story much publicised in the world press … On my second night in Accra, he took me to a nightclub in Accra. He proudly announced that he was the owner and that all VIPs would enjoy their evenings there. MORE EQUAL On Kamuzu Banda, Malawi’s founding father: He was quite a character, with his sunglasses even indoors and at night, and his buxom young African lady companion. He looked old but spoke with vigour, waving his fly whisk to emphasise his points. (1971 Commonwealth meeting in Singapore) On Kenneth Kaunda, Zambia’s founding father: Prime Minister Kenneth Kaunda’s major preoccupation was politics, black versus white politics, not the economics of growth for Zambia. He remained as president until the 1990s when, to his credit, he conducted a fair election and lost. On lavish lifestyles displayed by Third World leaders at Commonwealth meetings: All leaders were equal at the conference table, but those from heavyweight countries showed that they were more equal by arriving in big private jets, the British in their VC 10s and Comets, and the Canadians in Boeings … Those African presidents whose countries were then better off, like Kenya and Nigeria, also had special aircraft. I wondered why they did not set out to impress the world that they were poor and in dire need of assistance." DO HAVE A GREAT DAY. ONE LOVE! |
