The Social Democratic Party SDP wish to draw the attention of Nigerians and the Diplomatic circle to another of the series of undemocratic conducts being visited on Nigerians by the ruling APC government of president Muhammadu Buhari in its desperate move to stop the escalating defection of its elected members to the social democratic party and others due to crisis and mass rejection which has engolfed the party in the recent time.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of Social Democratic Party Alfa Mohammed and made available to TraceReporter in Kaduna,

According to the statement “The speaker of the KOGI state House of Assembly, playing the script written for him by the Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello who himself has lost respect and goodwill from the people of Kogi state declared the seat of an SDP legislator in the state house of Assembly vacant.

“It is on record that many legislators, including the same speaker of the house had defected from PDP to APC just a few months back amongst many similarities and their seats were not declared vacant.
It therefore amounts to mockery of Democracy and disrespect for the people of… Constituency who had elected the legislator on merit rathar party, to engage in such a dispecable conduct.

“Similarly, while we commend the Acting president for prompt disciplinary action taken on the Director General of the DSSS, who has just been relieved of his position, we call on him to save our democracy and order the immediate reversion of the anti democratic decision of the Kogi state house of Assembly before the state is engulfed by violent protest from the people of the state who are already fed up with the non performing APC government.

“Meanwhile, we enjoin the entire people of Kogi state to stand up for democracy and vote Imam in the forthcoming LOKOJA/KOGI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY election slated for next Saturday which his obvious victory is behind his humiliation”.

Kogi and Abia States need deliverance. Worst of the worse leaders in Nigeria. Between Abia and Kogi States, I don't know who to award the State with worst Governor in Nigeria.

APC is really in pain, they happily embrace anyone that defect into their party. But when it's the other way round, they become restless and always find way to either impeach or declare seat vacant.

Thats easy. Its because his government tolerates such impunity. You dont keep quiet and stay out of such acts, you make bold statements and take action against such acts.

if as a father you got calls that you children are misbehaving, you call and reprimand them and tell them to act responsibly because you have a family name to protect.

Thats what responsible leaders do, no watch from sidelines and keep mute, then jet out on holidays

Kogi and iliteracy are like bread and butter. The house cant declare any seat vacant, it is the court or their constituency that can recall them. The house can only suspend for a maximum of 6 months.. This is truly the effects of Amaljiri schools. Tufiakwa!
