A Tale of 2 Politcians. Nigeria is the best definition of Orwell's novel "Animal Farm". Some animals are more equal than others

True...but are idiomatic expressions good for headlining front page topics?

Yes, they are perfect

Unless u are after SEO (search engine optimization)

Apart from that, they are perfect

If you doubt me, check nytimes, wahsington post, mashables, forbes and Bloomberg

Those guys are authorities on the Internet, and they don't need SEO to rank high on SERP

And yes, they always use idiomatic expressions in headlines

You can compare an appointee to executive governor to be.

I wouldn’t agree...cause an idiomatic expression can be misleading in this context.

Why can't you people just do little research about things? Two PDP members went to court to challenge Adeleke qualification; what is stopping OP or you from going to court on Adeosun's matter?
One is seeking electoral office, which if he wins, only Election tribunal or SC can nullify his Election but on the other hand, Adeosun can be fired by the one who appointed her anytime. Again there is no doubt about her qualifications but on moral standards if eventually she was found wanting on her NYSC certificate(lying), she should go for that.

There’s a great difference btwn Adeosun NYSC cert and that of Adeleke.
The police can’t do jack on Adeosun’s own until NYSC clears the issue. NYSC will do justice before police can go into action.

Adeleke’s own had been denied outright from the institution in US and his result can’t be found with WEAC.
and it’s taking NYSC more than a month just to produce her certificate ? When me it wount take 2 days to get same ??

NYSC never denies Adeosun completely, they said she applied for exemption.
The institution Adeleke claimed had come out straight to deny him. WAEC has also denied him.

U can sue NYSC to clarify the issue on adeosun’s own first before weighing the two on same scale.

nwakibie3:
Despite yet-to-be controverted evidence showing that Nigeria’s finance minister, Kemi Adeosun, forged her National Youth Service Corps scheme exemption certificate, the Nigeria Police Force is yet to begin investigation into the scandal.

The officers, however, have swiftly commenced investigations into a similar scandal involving Ademola Adeleke, the opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party governorship candidate in Osun State.

Mr Adeleke, the senator currently representing Osun West in the National Assembly, is alleged to have forged his secondary school certificate.

The senator is also alleged to have falsified his certificate of graduation from Jacksonville State University in Alabama, United States of America.

Last week, the police invited Abass Khalib, the principal of Ede Muslim High School 1 where Mr Adeleke finished from, for investigation over the issuance of the alleged forged statement of result and testimonial to the senator.

On Sunday, Mr Adeleke said the principal’s arrest was politically-motivated and demanded his release.

But while the drama continued to play out in Osun State ahead of the September gubernatorial election, nothing has happened at the federal level where the finance minister is accused of a similar scandal but has chosen to ignore Nigerians.

It is still unclear why the police have yet to act on Mrs Adeosun’s alleged certificate forgery allegations.

Days after the scandal broke, Jimoh Moshood, the Nigeria police spokesperson, speaking on Channels Television’s breakfast show, Sunrise Daily, said the police were not aware of the scandal.

When contacted on Monday, Mr Moshood said he would return the call later. He did not and subsequent phone calls to his line were not answered.

On July 7, PREMIUM TIMES exposed how Mrs Adeosun, who was appointed a federal minister by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, skipped the mandatory NYSC scheme after graduating at age 22.

The NYSC scheme is compulsory for all Nigerians who obtain their first degrees under the age of 30.

The corps’ only response to the scandal was a statement saying that Mrs Adeosun did apply for the document but that it would “investigate the origin of the purported Exemption Certificate in question”.

The Nigerian government’s silence in the aftermath of the scandal has continued to generate a heated public reaction with civil society organisations calling for an investigation into the matter as well as the minister’s reaction.

Last month, the Human and Environmental Development Agenda petitioned the Inspector General of Police demanding an investigation into the scandal.

Last week, another organisation, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project sent a Freedom of Information request to Sule Kazaure, the NYSC Director-General, asking him to “urgently provide information on specific details and documents on the purported exemption certificate granted to Mrs Adeosun” within seven days.

The seven-day ultimatum expires on today, August 9.

TRASH the NYSC certificate maybe fake, yes, but was it forged? No. You cannot forge something you applied for and was issued by the government. Adeosun applied for a discharged certificate and got one from the NYSC (NYSC has come out to say she applied for a discharge certificate). She cannot then be charged for forgery. NYSC have to put its house in other and that is where investigation is ongoing. Who actually issued that certificate.
Take for example you applied for a birth certificate from NPC and you were issued with one. Years later, you are asked to present you certificate for something related with government. After due deligence, it was discovered that the person that sign your certificate was not authorised. Would that be a forged certificate?

But it’s misleading when it comes to headlining front page topics..’mute’ would’ve done the job a lot better...

You guys should leave sister Kemi alone. NYSC certificate is not obtained through exam, just a piece of paper. If she had forged her professional or school certificate, then I would have led the mob to harass her into submission. But Adeleke's case is different. It is forgery of intellectual proportion. It is criminal! Sister Kemi should be left off the hook, afterall most of us have at one time or the other forged driver's licence; vehicle particulars, birth certificate, marriage certificate, local govt certificate, tax certificate, bank account statement and the worst, school certificate of any level! Abeg, let the poor lady be o! But Adeleke the dancing Sinator should be crucified promptly

Trash.

Under NYSC regulations she can not be exempted from service.

Her application would have been rejected automatically on age grounds.

She presented an obviously forged exemption certificate and all you can come up with is to claim she was issued a a one by nysc?

Are you people normal at all?
