Good day to all Nairalanders.

Please i need a sincere and precise answers.

After several months of critical thinking and proper brain decision, I decided to stay in Lagos state. But I have few questions to ask, so i won't fall into the wrong hands and eventually regret my decisions.

"Person wey ask for road, no dey lost : Popular Naija proverb

Where in Lagos can i relocate to, with the followings guaranteed:

1. Light

2. Water

3. Security

4. Affordable House Rent/ Estate etc

Responsible Flat Mates, or better still, alone in the flat/apartment

I need a detailed information, so i could mark my plans out.

Island is good and peaceful, especially lkoyi. Light + water + security. Go there, drive round to check it out. Buh I'm a main land bloke, Ikeja, Opebi, Surulere, Gbagada, Ikorodu gat light, neighborhood security de reign now. Stay away from Festac, Satellite et al. Except u grew up there u might not like the fast life in those areas

Thank you sir. I'm so relieved to read your quote.

Please throw more lights and understanding. In this specific area, what's the rent charge , and from your personal experience/knowledge, which of this areas would you advice your brother to stay?.

Generally, rent is more expensive on the island. Average cost of a self contain on the island could cost u 300k/year or even more. Mainland will offer something cheaper. Something within 200k/year. We have suburb too. Ajah, lakowe bn an extension of d island could give u slightly cheaper rent. Also Lag-Iba exp. Arepo, Magboro, wawa could cost 150-200k/ year. Ikorodu 100-150/year but u will have to get ready for sections of traffic daily if u have something doing on d island. Alimosho is a very large area of lagos. Densely populated with so much traffic daily. A self contain around here averagely should cost 100k-150k.Alimisho covers; ipaja, merian, kola, alagbado, alakuko etc..then we have ota, sango. Here is a close outskirt of lagos..cheap rents, low cost of living, few elite, but very crowdy. U can get a self contain here for a low as 70k/year. Disadvantage is its a huge distance to both LAGOS mainland and island with long and agonizing traffics. Oshodi apapa exp way; ajao estate, mile 2, coconut, first and second rainbow, festac, could offer u within: 200-250/ year for a self contain. Ajegunle is like a ghetto. Few new buildings.. Apapa is majorly a commercial environment so rent is high..
It boils down to your budget and choice of life. To someone on a slim budget coming to lagos for d first time, its better to stay within lagos Ibadan exp way. Traffic is still OK and u can connect mainland and island more quick. But if u can afford it, maybe then surulere, ilupeju yaba or ikoyi...

Shalom.

Ikorodu is really interior. If u are going to d island, u can use the jetty..except for ketu mile 12, Alapere, ikosi, other places is a bit of distance to Ikorodu.... With long hold ups....
