The fishermen of Lake Chad must sail in secret, forced to evade both Boko Haram jihadists and Nigeria's military in a desperate dance that has strangled livelihoods and caused scarcity of a once-staple food.

While in the past boats slid across the vast waters unhindered, sustaining a vibrant fishing industry in northeastern Nigeria, years of bloody Boko Haram militancy has deeply scarred the region.

And despite a brief return to stability earlier this year, the fishermen have become ensnared in a fresh Nigerian army counterinsurgency operation against the jihadists in and around the lake launched in May.

This is the hand of mother nature

When the world's most parasitic virus (humanity) population spikes, mother nature has a way of turning the virus on itself.

Good thing about the crisis is that aquatic life in the chad lake will have time to recover.

well you are absolutely correct because most of things with which nature balance itself has been tilted by man toward his favour. those in the west understands this that is why they are controlling their population growth, but we down here in Africa don't that is why we will continue to be plague by our actions. but the truth on the other hand is, the people that are dying are real people, someone mother, father, brothers, sisters, uncles etc and they grieve
