[img][/img] Backfornow:Your right, I don’t think nursing is a prestigious job either. I work along side doctors everyday and I’m happy that I’m not a medical doctor. Although it’s a high paying job and is considered prestigious job, it’s also very high stress , long working hours and lots of liability. School is very very expensive , long and hard. Precerptopn is key. And some may call me ajebutter, I can’t do a job that I hate just for the money. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Nobody: 4:19pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Babyvet:I always thought that If I were to become a doctor it would be a radiologist. Less stress, they sit in a room all day by themselves, no call, hours are better than others, and limited direct patient care contact. I agree with you. But for now lets let this topic die, it seems that everyone has finally calmed down. Whats going on in Baltimore today? |

Babyvet:Whats your point exactly? So its impossible he traveled down to Nigeria within the past few days? Or is he supposed to be stuck there? I believe this post is somehow aimed at shaming him, and thats totally not neccesary. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Babyvet: 4:43pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Homguy:I had a legitimate question, nobody is shaming him, it's a simple question. Why are you caving for the guy so much? Is he your brother? This a public forum, anybody can claim what they like. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Babyvet: 4:44pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Backfornow:Nothing, its been raining all summer, in which part of the country do you live. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Nobody: 4:47pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Babyvet:Midwest. Indiana to be exact. Nothing to report here either. Although our state fair is happening now. People from all over the state come to look at exhibit animals, learn about agriculture, and eat fair foods. Traditionally Indiana was a big farming state, not so much now. Does MD have one and do you attend? |

Backfornow:yes they have state fairs, but Maryland is boring place. Good to raise your family but if your young, its not the most vibrant place. Like i said in my previous, I would like to move somewhere else, was thinking about Texas but then changed my mind, heard to many mixed reviews. I want to start visiting other countries as well. One of the perks of my job is that If I schedule my self well, I don't need to put in vacation time to get time off. |

Babyvet:Hmm.. have you thought about places like Richmond, VA. Lots of opportunity, there are several big colleges there, so usually places like that tend to have more things to attract younger people, and its affordable. And it is 2hrs driving distance from VA beach. But is south, and for me somewhat a deal breaker.Midwest there is Ohio, specifically Cincinnati. Most of the Same perks there, Ive thought of moving there myself. Where would you go outside of the country? I say go now while you have little to no responsibilities. You only live once. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Babyvet: 5:12pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Backfornow:I have been there before, not impressed. Richmond ain't cheap either. I heard the Atlanta is a good place for young black professionals lol. I'm still looking at places to travel, I'm looking at different travel blog sites. Would like to go some warmer climates during the winter time. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Nobody: 5:16pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Babyvet:It is been said that Atlanta is the black equivalent of Hollywood. Atlanta is pretty much the mecca for black entrepreneurs and young professionals. Maybe some folks here could give you other suggestions. Now, I heard Arizona is a good place to live. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Babyvet: 5:44pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Backfornow:But I heard Atlanta is more for people that want to open business than going there to work. lol, my black self is not going to Arizona. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Nobody: 5:50pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Babyvet:Lol. Hey, just being thorough with the suggestions. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by stonemasonn: 6:10pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Babyvet:Arizona isn’t bad if you can handle the summer. Fuel is cheap there, you can drive into Nevada for the weekend to gamble in casinos ![]() |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Nobody: 6:33pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Babyvet:Speaking of travel blogs made me think of Anthony Bourdain. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Nobody: 6:36pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
stonemasonn:BabyVet he's right. Plus there are always shows and concerts and stuff like that in Vegas. Supposedly the quality of life is really good in AZ, just have to not mind being in a furnace during the summer. Or just move to Nevada. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Babyvet: 6:40pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Backfornow:Yea, i but I also have to think about demographics and job outlook and pay for that area. I can do travel nursing to see how they area is before actually moving there. |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Nobody: 6:43pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Babyvet:Thats a good plan. I like it. Hopefully you will find what you are looking for |
| Re: Yankee: through the eyes of a village boy. by Babyvet: 6:49pm On Aug 12, 2018 |
Backfornow:Like I said, I'm thinking about it, it's not something, I'm really serious about right now. I'm may never actually move, for now I will just travel, that I really want to do. |
