I have always loved this man - Kasali. He is true to his convictions. However, seeds work. It is a principle... whether you are giving to the poor, rich, god or devil, man or nature... spiritual laws of giving and sowing works. However, what is wrong is mandating people to sow to YOU.

Or promise of blessing. You are right - it works like magic all the time especially on vulnerable people who have personal problems and are seeking solution.

Imagine this scenario: in the congregation are people with different problems - some are looking for jobs, some for husbands, some for children, some for healing, some for breakthrough, some are afraid of demons, witches, curses, some are looking for solution to marital and domestic issues etc. Pastor comes up to this group of people who are pressed on every side and says 'if you want to have - - - - - (fill in any of the above mentioned) you must have faith and one way to show you have faith is to honour the Lord with a seed offering which will be a sweet smelling savour unto him'. He opens the Bible and talks about the widow of Zarepath.

Five things immediately begin to work magic on the mind of the congregation
1- the nagging problem
2- the possibility of a solution/blessing
3-the pastor
4- God (whether real or false)
5- the response of others who have similar problems or problems generally.

In this situation one is faced with the choice of either giving to God and then standing a chance to get God to intervene OR one does not give in which case one will have to bear the burden of being responsible for one's problem. Faced with this choice many will give and voila the pastor smiles to the bank.

He might be going for a project for the church and they needed the said amount.
Anyway, you give not by compulsion but according as you've willed. God will help our generation of pastors.
