Brazil Legend Ronaldo is in intensive care after suffering from flue - but the Brazilian has revealed he will soon be discharged.

The 41-year-old was taken to hospital in Ibiza on Friday while on holiday.

The former Brazil superstar was put in intensive care over the weekend.

But he has revealed his situation is expected to get better in the coming hours.

“Friends, I had a really nasty bout of flu while in Ibiza and had to go into hospital on Friday, but it’s all in order now,” he tweeted.

“I will be discharged tomorrow so that I can come back home. Thank you for all your love and kind messages!”

Ronaldo is expected to be discharged from hospital on Monday, all being well.

The former Real Madrid and Barcelona striker, who also played for Inter Milan and AC Milan during his career, remains active in football.

He was one of the faces of the recent World Cup in Russia and was present at the opening ceremony in Moscow.
