Hello Nairaland,

Currently planning to stay in Lagos fully but somehow clueless on how the house rent system works here.

I have about 80 - 120K for rent.

Is it possible to get a decent 1 room in Lagos with that amount?

They said house rent is quite huge here.

A room in lagos costs within 4,000 for boys quater to 6,000 for standard room. Cheap right? The devils here are the agents. if you find a house with an agent, the can take upto 70,000 for agency, commission and agreement.

Check jiji for house rent....you'll see some nice 1 room and parlor self containe for around 80 to 100k...but it'll mostly be around ikorodu...house in ikorodu is really cheap...but if you're looking for house around lekki ajah....it'll be 200k upward...check jiji and select your preferred location...you'll surely see what you're looking for....truly...agent will add 50k...but it's only for the first year...you can also negotiate it... Good luck

Depends on the area in lagos. This can get you a room self in some area while you might get a room/parlor with it elsewhere.

Except you get a place directly from the landlord, you cant get a room here for 100k with agreement/commission included.
