A medical doctor was on Monday Kidnapped in Umuahia, while on his way to work. The doctor (names withheld) who is a Consultant Dental Surgeon left his house around Ihe Ndume, Ibeku in Umuahia North LGA to the Federal Medical Center, Umuahia where he works when he was double crossed along Ikot Ekpene road and subsequently kidnapped by unknown persons. Efforts by the security agencies to secure his release is ongoing. The kidnappers were said to have demanded the sum of N50 million to secure his release. May God help us.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Umuahia zone, yesterday, Wednesday, embarked on a protest march to government house, Umuahia and the police commissioner's office to register there displeasure with the recent unfortunate development.
