Dannyset:Is that what he told u? Is it not akpabio that threatened to declear seat of saraki vacant? |

jumpandpas:Then that's a very smart move indeed. Although I think the Apc guys are more interested in impeaching him than declaring his seat vacant. |

Dannyset:The pdp e-wailers will not see anything bad on this news... The only thing that will make Buhari not to win 2019 election is to declare himself of not contesting for the race if otherwise you knw the answer already. |

iammo:Your analysis is incomplete. Unfortunately for him, it will pave way for more defections. Most likely from PDP to APC. And that will be his doom. MODIFIED Senator Ayogu Eze Defects To APC In Enugu... and now the real game begins. |

NotAZombie:You seems not to get it, Saraki and other PDP wants Akpabio's senate seat day cleared vacant, not his minority leadership position which he has resigned already. If sariki and other decampees can hold their position, why will he makes moves to declear his vacant. The problem with Nigeria is hypocrisy, we hail when our own man does something bad while we screen if another camp does similar to our man. |

maj007:Defection goes both ways APC only need more senators temporarily to boot out saraki and pass suplimentary budget. Senators know this and they are using it as a bargaining tool |

912:When we said saraakkii is part of the problem in the present administration, some will want to hang our neck. someone that has not yet sit down comfortably want to unseat another person. what gave him the impression that the senators supporting him now cannot turn around and do otherwise. He need to tread softly and learn from the past. |

OhiOfIhima:What I v observed is that PDP is doing a good job online, TVs and radio. Unfortunately people that will vote don't really watch AIT, listen to most radio stations and are not on Nairaland, Facebook etc. We see what happened in Ekiti and bi-elections, people who are on Nairaland, Facebook, internet and watch TVs don't have time to vote, if they go to polling units, they will snap the polling boots upload online to tell us how the country has degenerated without any attempt to wait and vote. For me with this attitudes, northern backed candidates will always win election while the southern people will continue to wail. |

iammo:Exactly my point. APC have bargaining advantage over PDP for any defecting senator right now. And i know they would key into that. Akpabio's defection was just a bait for Saraki. If it proves difficult or impossible for him to declare Akpabio's seat vacant, more defections will certainly follow from PDP to APC. And if he succeeds, his own seat might also be declared vacant. He might also loose the support of some other senators sympathetic towards Akpabio. It is a very difficult situation for him right now. Let's continue to watch the drama. The latest now is that a south east senator Senator Ayogu Eze (i just learnt he is not a serving senator though) |

| Re: Court Stops Saraki From Declaring Akpabio’s Seat Vacant by seunfly: 11:35am On Aug 16, 2018 |
Lomprico2:Yes, he is no more minority leader, what Saraki wants is to removed him as serving senator. |

OhiOfIhima:They are not doing their jobs in the right way, I v lived in the north b4, Buhari is extremely popular, I was INEC ad-hoc officer in 2011 I know how PDP gubernatorial candidates voted for CPC because he knows the consequences if he had voted for alternative. The more PDP trows hates at buhari, the more they undermines their guys who are working for them in the north. Trowing hates at Buhari may work in the south but it can't all over Nigeria. |

Lomprico2:Don’t you think it is a little childish to think that Saraki will go down the path of trying to declare Akpabio seat vacant? In fact no mainstream PDP person is even calling for this let alone Saraki It is only RAPC members led by Kasim Afegbua that floated this idea Saraki is too clever to go down this path even though he Saraki is one of the defectors In fact his media spokesman stated they had no plans to declare anyone seat vacant. There is also a process for declaring anyone seat vacant and that process is supported by a resolution of the house in question. No one has started this process the last time I checked! |

912:Its not double standard. You don't play chess, do you? It was Akpabio that first declared he was going to lead the charge to declare Saraki's seat vacant. They mirrored it back to him and he scampered for safety... |

excomarow:, both of you seem not to understand what took place in kaduna where the deputy speaker resigned and decamped to the APC and the speaker declared the deputy speakers sit vacant, that's what akpabio is running away from, by the way Saraki has got upper hand in all of this |
| Re: Court Stops Saraki From Declaring Akpabio’s Seat Vacant by NatureDavid(m): 12:47pm On Aug 16, 2018 |
seunfly:I think the difference is that akpabio resigned, and as such his sit could be declared vacant |

| Re: Court Stops Saraki From Declaring Akpabio’s Seat Vacant by seunfly: 2:47pm On Aug 16, 2018 |
NatureDavid:The minority seat is already vacant, they are going after is senatorial seat. If it was FG that was after Saraki and other APC decampee's senatorial seat, every body will be shouting that democracy is under attack. All this things makes me sad that everybody in our country are just oppressor, they are hailing Saraki's actions which means if they were Buhari's supporters, they would have hailed him instead of shouting attack on democracy. This is the major problem of Nigeria, everybody just want power for themselves and not for Nigeria. |

| Re: Court Stops Saraki From Declaring Akpabio’s Seat Vacant by thatigboman: 6:16pm On Aug 16, 2018 |
Bizibi:no no no. Can be be in APC and be minority leader? So APC will be both majority or minority leader? The seat in question is being a senator, not minority leader |
