Yul Edochie, Nollywood actor and SSA on Creative & Entertainment Media to Anambra State governor, has taken to his Twitter account to reveal that an Igbo Commissioner told his Igbo guests not to speak Igbo to him, that the language is not allowed in his office.

The commissioner in question is not worthy of his position. Simple. We should never be ashamed to speak our local languages.

Southerners (SE/SS) do that a lot. Go to most government agencies, Hausa is the lingua franca.

A very stupid commissioner, if he make several blunder for writing english now, e go use laff laff talk say english is not my mother tongue. I don't encourage speaking igbo or any other tribal language in an official setting with others that may not understand your language. Pidgin is the next from english.

Official language at work is English. Outside it becomes Pidgin English and Ethnic languages.

Was in Kano 2008 when i visited my Sis. She was then a student of Kano state college of education. I sat almost an hour in her class and understood nothing; cos the mallam teaching barely speaks english.
