A four storey building under construction on Friday collapsed in Utako area of Abuja.

Workers are trapped in the building said to have been abandoned for over two years.

Emergency workers are battling to rescue some of the survivors in the building.

No crane is available for evacuation as at the time of this report.

So sad...

If this can happen in the nation's capital- where all buildings should go through necessary approvals... Well, if you check now that building has all required documents and the signature(s) of an engineer(s) would be there, all signed without even visiting the site.

This country, where the bricklayer on the street asks to be addressed as 'engineer', some of them even have the guts to write it on official documents, and nothing happens. Where ordinary persons impersonate medical doctors and operate for a long time. Illegalities hand in hand with impunity.
Anyway, from the top, the country is rotten. Only few spots are not. The more the good struggles in this country, the more it is being overshadowed by evil. It's a pity.
