NDLEA official kills woman during raid on Lagos community

A source, who disclosed the incident to Saturday PUNCH, stated that the shooting created panic in the community.

He said, “An NDLEA team raided some black spots in Alasia last Saturday in the evening to arrest drug peddlers and smokers. As the suspects were running away, the NDLEA personnel continued to pursue them. At a point, they started throwing stones at the officials, who resorted to the shooting.

“There was confusion everywhere. A stray bullet hit a woman called Barakat and she died on the spot. She was in her compound. The NDLEA operatives fled after the woman was felled by the bullet. It took the intervention of the police to restore peace to the community because angry youths wanted to avenge the death of the innocent woman.”

Use of hard drugs is bad , but weed is medicinal and shouldn't be responsible for NDLEA taking lives of innocent people

actually I think they are taking things too far ...

can't u see this one's called SARS or what ever theirs is the worst

Maybe it was a mistake or the woman was found guilty of implicating hard drugs

If it was a mistake, nothing special cuz security personnel's make mistakes allover the world

If it was the later, then ejecting her out of our world isn't the best thing to do

She should instead die by hanging

Gunning her down is such an easy way to die and that's too swift for my liking

They threw stones at them and they decided to throw life bullets at them.

Law enforcement agencies should realize that they are there to protect lives and not take it. Even the life of the guilty.

They should be trained on minimum and unavoidable casualties.
Oh! forgotten they deal with drugs.
