According to reports, armed policemen and operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, (SARS), allegedly snatched election materials at some polling units during the bye-election in Rivers state earlier today. One of the operatives accused of snatching the election materials - was seen smoking during the operation.

It was gathered that the policemen dressed in Mufti snatched electoral materials at mile 3 , Port Harcourt during the Port Harcourt State Constituency 3 Election.

They were allegedly accompanied the Factional Chairman, F. Amachre of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the units.

They SARS agents were led by one ASP David Amah.

Just take a look at the folks that are entrusted to protect lives and properties
SARS should be scrapped temporarily while graduates are recruited and properly trained, the new recruits are then warned that any form of mis-conduct will amount to outright sack and those who are seen to follow laid down rules are duly rewarded

I think the law forbids officers of the NPF and other security agencies from drinking and perhaps smoking while on duty. It does not portray the force in good light when officers are seen drinking and smoking with their uniform on while on duty. Sadly, it is a common trend across the country. I witness this anomaly every other day.
