KOFI DIED THIS MORNING AT THE AGE OF 80.

One of the most indelible horrors I ever watched was the Rwandan genocide. As I watched hotel Rwanda one question kept racing through my mind : why did the world sit idly while eight hundred thousand Tutsis were murdered by the Hutu countrymen? Why didn't the United Nations intervene? The day you watch that movie I assure you that you won't sleep with dry eyes.


But that's not all there is to that genocide ...the untold part is the Kofi part!

On January 11,1994 three months before the genocide began General Romeo Dailare head of the original UN peace keeping unit in Rwanda informed Kofi Annan of the plan by the Hutu militia to exterminate the Tutsi minority in Rwanda. He warned of the looming genocide but the man running the relevant department of the universe peace keeping mission Kofi Annan did nothing! He refused to alert the United Nations, he refused to raise any alarm to alert the UN to intervene and stop that genocide. All he did was sit down while the Hutus concluded their plans and murdered eight hundred thousand Tutsis !

Not only did Kofi not do anything to prevent the genocide bit his actions assured that the Security Council wouldn't either.

Today Kofi is dead and we may be forced to mourn him but who mourned the eight hundred Tutsis murdered because of his actions? Who will mourn all those young people who were cut in their prime because Kofi refused to act? Who will console mothers who lost their children to that inglorious incident?

God has a lot to judge and if their be life after this life Kofi will have the odious task of looking indo the eyes of the victims of his actions and tell them how it all happened.

Bill Clinton was trying to play safe because he has already burnt his hands with that failed operation on Somalia

And the U.N. security council consists of 5 permanent members of which France and U.S. are members

France would have NEVER approved of a resolution against Rwanda And that is the TRUTH

Rwanda's case was a tragedy

But don't even think of blaming Annan for it.
