There's nothing there. Just a desert with skyscrapers. Their roads are not even greats. Then you can do desert safari (fast rides in the desert with SUVs) and probably ride a few donkeys. Other than that, there's no big deal about Dubai. It's just one of those highly overrated cities like London.
