Respect yourself Hungerbad and stop writing INTERESTING whenever you are booking space.

This was pure Vendetta by the OYO Government and no story can change that.

Voters remember to vote in the PDP in OYO in the next election. Under them, nobody's house was getting demolished.

Remember folks.
You No get sense with someone who wrote INTEREST
I think you want to say reasonable things, but I don't know you are same

this are just to weak point to justify your action...but why did government permit the building in the first place, since it's against land planning law.you should have waited for court verdict to be justified.
ajimobi govt did not approve the building from inception. laws have been contravened and violators should face the law and stop crying foul

Let us leave Ayefele to sort out this problem with the court and the government. Why are people too sentimental about this.

Just as babajide kolade otitoju said on journalist hangout some few hours ago both parties are wrong in this matter.
Oyo State govt shouldn't have demolished that building since Yinka ayefele has gone to court they should have waited to hear from the court
On Yinka ayefele's part too he should have swallowed his pride by going to the ministry to regularise his building plan. If big institutions like UCH, kola daisi University and other radio stations can go back to the govt to sort things out then who is fresh FM
In my own view Yinka ayefele's case is weak and the govt will win him on this matter because they will hide under the excuse of building regulation

If they waited for the court verdict in every case, trust me , nothing will be done.

I am sure the government had compelling reasxons to bring down the building, the most compelling being that it land had encroached.

I read estate and it incorporates some town planning.

My dad when building his house ensured there was a very large setback.

When government expanded the gutters, only the setback was affected. Now that government wants to expand the road, only the setback will be affected. Our fence will go unscathed talkless of the house.

When property owners encroach on right of way, they make it difficult for government to expand roads and much more.

Next, people will be crying that the roads are congested and government is doing nothing.

Take a look at Victoria Island.

Until the late 80's and early 90's, it was strictly a residential area. Now, it's commercial because planning laws were not enforced.

Residential building and neighbourhoods are designed to have few cars unlike the commercials. Now nightmarish traffic jams plague Victoria I sland.

The construction started when Alao Akala was governor. Ayefele is close to Akala. Só they must ave given him all the conccessions then.
However, he just kept rebuilding. So whatever the plan
approved b4 had been deviated from.

brave man. akala allowed the illegal building to proceed. if ayefele had done the right thing and not encroach on the road then there won't be any excuse to demolish the building!!!

lesson: obey the law even when it's not being enforced

Truly sad situation.
However, there is lesson in this for all. When you dine and wine with people in power, be careful what you do and make sure it is perfectly legal and well documented with necessary official approval. Then make sure you conform with the approval. A Pharaoh may come that won't know Joseph! I have seen this happen too many times especially in Lagos. Your powerful connections of today may be irrelevant tomorrow.
I wish this was settled amicably with proper compensation agreements but it is what it is.

Both parties are to be blamed for this demolition. Yinka Ayefele should have gone to the review the master plan of that building has requested by the OYSG while, the govt on the other hand should have waited a bit since the case is in court already.

Go and read it again and pay attention to all the places they wrote "not approved with the building plan". What that means is a plan was approved but as always in naija, they will approve a plan and then the owner will add additional stuff to it. Look at how messed up Festac is, look at how messed up Abuja was before El-Rufai came in. We complain about corruption but we ourselves encourage it. We will forever look for shortcut and we do not accept No.

Keep contradicting yourself. The counsel to OYSG said he never knew who demolished the structure at the court today.

You guys should bury your heads in shame. Damage control. Losing the little goodwill gradually.

The question is- Why was the building not demolished when the reconstruction of the Challenge road, linking the highway was ongoing?

Simple- Vendetta!
