**Proof of return too is very important here,Show that you will return to your country at the end of your stay in Canada. Gather letters and documents.For example, you can obtain a letter from your employer authorizing vacation time, stating the length of employment, the position,your title, salary and the date you are expected back at work.
***Ties to your home country,e.g your two kids like you said are good example of dependent family members. Submit land ownership documents, banking,and investment documents, copies of leases, motor vehicle registration etc.
***Finances..Prove that you can afford the trip.You have to demonstrate that the trip is affordable and sustainable.avoid lodgement of money in your account,this way, the visa officer won't be suspicious that you just transferred the money and you don't have the required financial standings. they’re more interested in the transaction flow.
*** For your accommodation,(if you don't have an invitation letter,a hotel booking is Ok.
*** Flight itinerary is your flight reservation with the airline. You are not required to buy a ticket o,talk to a flight booking agent or walk into any airline and get an itinerary for the proposed travel dates.

Hello Everyone, i am new on this thread and i am hoping my family could find the answers to our way out .My wife just came back from Netherlands so she has a travel history, also she lectures at a polytechnic and as for me i work with the federal ministry and i have my passport obtained since November 2014 and will be due 2019 and yet i have no travel history also our daughter just got a new passport with nothing on it. my questions are
1) what are our chances if we are to apply for a tourist visa since travel history is more like a criteria
2) who should be the principal applicant
3) wont my virgin passport be an issue

Please if an application was submitted via paper route and you get an email from vfs saying it's ready for pickup, but no update on cic...what does that mean? Is it a denial?

No it's not account balance but account transaction. The Activities of the account are important than balance.

if this isn't your first Canada visa application, your previous biometric capture is valid for 10 years.

Same situation here. Aug 3rd applicant also, didn't get to pay the biometric fee too. I just hope they've started the process though.

It is my first application, there was obviously an error in the system, because it was originally showing biometric collection fees when i started the application, but after july 31st when they rolled out the compulsory bometrics for all regions in middle east, africa and so on, the fees stopped showing. My friend that applied second week in august got the biometrics letter after 24 hours. I sent a CSE, all i have to do now is wait till they respond

You are misleading him, so if you have one billion activities going on in your account with zero balance the embassy will prefer that?

Both are required, enough money for your proposed trip and documents to support the source of that money.

6 months bank statement is usually the standard supported with your payslips or business documents depending on what you do for work.

You should know how much a trip will cost you by budgeting it, cost of flight, accommodation, transport within Canada etc.

Good morning boss. Yeah, 6 months Bank Statement is usually standard requirement for most embassies, I however will quickly add that but for Canada, 4 months BS is required for online route of application while the paper route application requires 3 months. Yes, transactions and sitting balance at different times, closing balance and in fact opening balance all count like you pointed out.

I'm not misleading him. I got my Visa with less Balance than previously when I have big Balance in Naira and Euro account yet I was denied.

Embassy care more about your activities not the money to stage in the account.

I didn't say the Balance should be zero. I have processed Visa with account of -500k before.

I got my Canada visa with 800k balance but good business transaction in last 6 months.

Same experience. I suspect a glitch caused by their recent update. So, I just got off the phone with a staff in Ontario, she was surprised to learn of the situation, she advised I contact the Lagos vfs.

Transactional activities plus account closing balance equals what is required, they are both key, even opening balance and sitting balance at different times during the required bank statement period counts too....

Paper route is the fastest with the history of previous approval and refusal i know of ..you can submit your application same day if you get to vfs as early as possible and lucky as well bur have the mindset that you can be given a later date for biometrics too due to large number of applicant that want to submit it all depends on the vfs officials discretion at the time you visit!

Please lets give a detailed answer when someone ask a question here.what am sure of is paper route is the fastest cos many applicant that submitted tru it quickly got response within a month or 2 while alot of online applicant since april/may student visa/visitor visa many are on this platform whom are still waiting uptill now without response from cic so i dont know where the improvenent has come from..
