Chelsea midfielder has changed position under the new coach - Maurizio Sarri.


New role has been assigned to Kante under Maurizio Sarri.
Kante is now playing a new role for Chelsea under the magician coach Maurizio Sarri. This shift of position will definitely have both positive and negative impact on the team being widely acknowledged as the club engine room.

The last match statistics shown that he is much more attacking than before.
Sarri find it better seeing him aggressively pressing forward with the ball. Sarri said “He is playing like a centre right-midfielder and I am very happy for the performance of Kante”. It will help in improving Chelsea ball possession.
"It's a new manager, a new system. I play a little bit more forward. I try to find the striker, to be more offensive, to cause problems for the opponents. I need to adapt in this role and I will give my best in this position for the team and I hope we can keep doing good things for the future." Kante said.
But more shots and more chances created but fewer tackles and interceptions. That is the trade-off Sarri is accepting when shifting Kante's position. It should make Chelsea a better passing team and a more dynamic one. But it is a tweak that could also leave them exposed defensively.

Contrary to popular belief, Kante cannot be everywhere at once.
