Whether they are truly cousins or not has not yet been established. But even if they are cousins, there can be different explanations. For example, Ikorodu and Epe people of Lagos are Ijebus, with blood-relatives in Ogun state. The connection could either be from the mother or father's side. The Oba of Lagos can trace his paternal bloodline to Ologun Kutere whom was originally from Ijesha (Osun), while the maternal bloodline is from Benin. The list goes on. Most SouthWestern people have bloodlines that cut across different states even. So there you have it.

Lol. My dad is from Edo State while his mum is from a town in Kogi State. Definitely he would have some cousins in Kogi State. So does having cousins in Kogi make my dad a Kogite? OP, please make use of that thing.

I remembered OBJ statement at a public fora in lagos few years back.

He said something like "The one you called your leader connived with a sitting governor to burn a school archive in order to erase his history when investigations was instituted to unravel his past / state of origin"


Personally I asked a Lagos chief when the issue of his state of origin became an issue then and the Alhaji told me that when the matter was raised the late 'mother' Abibat mogaji whom many believed adopted him insisted Tinubu is her son and they had to accept that.

And he likewise said not everyone in Isale Eko claiming lagosians are for real. That some of them were given lands to build houses then even some were just assistants / servants that adopted lagosian togas due to the magnanimity of those late lagosians who considered them 'family'.
