Since you guys seems to know much about intelligence here. May I know your opinion towards the president's close protection. Watching through the news highlights, I observed several civilians moving close to him with his security details having an extreme time containing the crowd. This is something usual among our leaders in Nigeria in a bid to get closer to the masses but I have a negative feeling concerning its security risks. |

allexpensive:Close protection detail usually classify areas of visitation based on risk assessment, but with politicians, too much security is not enough security. There's only so much the detail can do in open air visitations |

Watched the video of the 4 American soldiers ambushed in Mali as retrieved from their bodycams. You could see the immediate tactical positioning by the soldiers and returning of fire but sadly they were overpowered, no thanks to the environment. Desert warfare is one of the most technical and challenging terrain to fight on. In that video one of the soldiers was desperately looking for a cover but there was non except for their non-armoured aka light skinned vehicle. |

allexpensive:Not only in Nigeria, have seen a lot of politicians in western & European countries getting close to civilians/crowd's. They usually do these when it is close to election time, especially when they contesting for the 2nd time. ... ![]() In my own opinion it's dangerous but it's a risk they take once in a while. |

Make una no vex...make person clear me on this In that us military video, they said they have a SF base. That is controlled by an SF major. Like in an Indian parasf video that I watched, the officer was striped of his rank before participating in the training Does this means that the officer after the SF training becomes an operative with his rank as an officer or what... infact what happens to an officer that undergoes an SF training |
| Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by bidexiii(op): 8:47am On Aug 24, 2018 |
joshingjosh:I think the striping off your rank as an officer is only valid during such SF training. After the training your rank will be restored. |

Fyi,4 or 5 years back KAF guys were in Russia srsly looking at some low hour Sues and/or Mig 29s, IIRC. They were told:"you have Probox money and want a VX!?" |

BlackBaron: ...... Tell me you're being funny? It is embarrassing why she actually visiting Nigeria and West-Africa. "Angela Merkel who will be accompanied by an economic delegation, will be discussing migration politics and her campaign to tackle the causes resulting in a stream of refugees to Europe during her visit to the West African countries." Hardware from where? We really need to stop wishing for things in the military threads. For those of us who have been following the military for the past few years now, constantly making wasteful wishes won't take us anywhere. The last military hardware we got from Germany were 6 units of Nigerian made gunboats. The last time Nigeria bought hardware from Germany is more than 30 years ago. |
| Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by BlackBaron: 7:44pm On Aug 24, 2018 |
Henry240:All well and good. Didn't read the full report about 'economic delegation'. 30 years ago, Nigeria was more or less a pariah due to military ruler so we were conveniently shunned by most. Until The Tucanos, Uncle Sam only passed us 'defanged' mostly sea going hardware (due to piracy which affected American interests). Germany is under an influx of immigrants amongst which are Nigerians who conveniently apply the BH narrative to get a stay. Apart from seeking increased economic potentials from the government for Nigerian youths, it falls into the sphere of security for the ones abroad in Germany who don't want to come back. She is under immense pressure from her party and country to sort out the influx especially as they were the most open country in the last few years to take the bulk of the immigrants into Europe. Hardware from Germany doesnt mean guns and arty. We can do with decommissioned but useful bits such as IFV, or any initiative from Germany's expolits in Afghanistan. |

Where is that lying son of man who said Police in New York wears rag tag uniform and have sex in public on Police Patrol vehicles ! [b]The Inspector-General of Police, Mr .Ibrahim Idris, has ordered members of the Special Anti-Robbery. Squad to wear police uniforms with full identification, pending the launch of new FSARS uniform. The force Spokesman, Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Moshood, who indicated this in a statement in Abuja on Friday, said Idris gave the order at a meeting with critical stakeholders, News Agency of Nigeria reported. Moshood said that Idris was represented by the Deputy Inspector-General of police in Charge of Operations, Mr. Habila Joshak. He said that the meeting was convened to brief the stakeholders on the progress made so far in the overhaul of the SARS, now known as Federal SARS. The Police boss said that the overhaul of SARS was beyond rhetoric as strategic reforms were being implemented. He said that the FSARS operatives had been ordered to desist from attending to civil or commercial matters henceforth and focus strictly on armed robbery and kidnapping cases only. According to Moshood, the Commissioner of Police in charge of FSARS, Mr. Habiru Gwandu, informed the meeting that a human rights desk had been created in the 36 states of the federation and FCT. He said that the desks would address cases of infractions against members of the public by FSARS personnel across the nation. Gwandu added that the Police had engaged the services of psychologists and counsellors in the ongoing screening of FSARS operatives. On his part, the DCP in charge of the I-G’s X-Squad, Amaechi Elumelu, said in the statement that the screening and mobilisation of FSARS oeratives would not be business as usual again. He said that FSARS operatives would undergo thorough rigorous orientation including human rights training among other screening processes. Elumelu said that the IG would soon unveil the Custody Records Management System. He explained that this system would contain the records of arrests, detentions and welfare details of suspects. BlackBaron:Tucanos were approved for Nigeria before Obama halted the sale because of the Air Force air strike in the IDP camp in Rann. The sale of the Tucano is in the same class as the transfer of Cutters to the Nigerian navy or the transfer of MRAPs to the army. They do not represent any leap in capability for the Nigerian military, but rather seek to secure American interest in Nigeria without representing any threat to America or her allies in the region. The US will never sell F-16s to Nigeria, because any such sale will represent a threat to French interests in West-Africa. You are telling us that a decommissioned IFV doesn't represent guns? The only meaningful hardware we've gotten from Germany in the last 35 years are 6 units of Epenal Gunboats. We have been a steady democracy for nearly 20 of the 35 years. So how is it that we would now be wishing for IFVs and other military hardware from them? In fact we are even more likely to get decommissioned IFVs from France than Germany. http://nigerianewsday.com/2018/03/14/germany-donates-5-gun-boats-to-navy |

Look at the first 2pics with respectable SARS Officers. Well dressed and well kitted as a law enforcement agents. Now look at the last 2pics of some illiterates who luckily find themselves in our honorable NPF... Dressing like true illiterates and ruffians that they are! I won't blame them... they got the job thru "MAN-KNOW-MAN" and not by merit! But thanks to the NPF handlers who have come to nip such nonsense in the bud. NPF will be great again !!! ![]()

Henry240:You're contradicting yourself in the same post. Tucanos got blocked but cutters got passed. Most transfers until recent were defanged hardwares. No one is also asking for F16, no need to elevate the discussion to a level I have not stated. Clearly we have different definitions of steady. ND, Boko haram, IPOB. |
