Madam Efunroye was able to get many traditional rulers including Oba Akintoye to sign documents that ended Africans selling other Africans to the Europeans .”

Her end turned out better than her beginning.
Story of our life!
Abegi!!! This woman was a master trader herself. She only changed direction when it became unpopular for the British (colonial masters).... Nothing to be proud of, a crony opportunist she was like her contemporary namesake.

grin Africans selling Same Africans, u can imagine. And some mofos will be hating on Innocent whites who cared enough to bring u civilization and still giving u Aids upon Aids All day everyday. This Thing called Black Man has a huge problem, keep sentiments apart and think about it.
See this one. Oh my! Did I see you say "innocent whites"? How naive. So you think the aids they are giving out is to help Africa. Point to a nation that has achieved anything with aids from the Europeans. The purpose of the aids is to mentally subjugate Africans and promote access to resources. Can you believe the Chinese with $200 million aid built the African Union headquarter, and they went ahead to bug it.

Actually, those Isrealites in the bible you referred to were also black or coloured people like you and I. And to shock you. Their offsprings are among those eventually shiiped to the Americas on second slavey.

Here is Deuteronomy 28:68 (God curse for disobedience):

"And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you."

Egypt in that verse simply mean a place of bondage. And you normally will not need a ship to travel from ancient Israel to Egypt as we know it. So, the Egypt in that verse mean a place of bondage that requires a ship to travel to.

Places like Tinubu square and Tinubu hall (a female hostel in Unilag) named after her should be changed. Efunroye Tinubu and her her friend Efunsetan Aniwura (the iyalode of Ibadan) both of them are from Egbaland, they are wicked women that got their money from slave trades and selling weapons. If Efunsetan could be tagged as a wicked person, Efunroye Tinubu should not be exempted.

See mama looking stern in the picture, lol. Her look says it all. She was really a no-nonsense woman in her time. I read deeply about her. She actually married a kanuri man called mohmodu bugara( from north eastern Nigeria) who happened to be her employee. The man later married another wife but still named the children the second wife had for him after Madam efunroye's father's name(tinubu). One of the children was the Saka Tinubu, the educated Islamic scholar who prominent in the ahmadiyya movement in Nigeria in 1900s. Now I can understand why sen Bola Tinubu is so close to the north.
Una de vex gan. The truth is a lot of Lagos families participated in the trade and Yoruba’s were fond of selling northerners because of their wars and skirmishes with northerners. Until their internal civil war then they started selling enemy Yoruba’s. This is why she would have had a kanuri man as her employee/slave. I highly doubt she married him, he was not capable in advancing her ambition in anyway and it would have been a public disgrace for her to stoop so low. He may have been a side piece. Yoruba women then had concubines and they were no joke. It’s common for concubines to name their children after their benefactor and even employees or slaves to take over their employers name. This happened in my family too. Slave trade is nothing to be proud of and it’s quite a shame. May God forgive our fore fathers.

Claims about Madam Tinubu's repentance from the Trans Atlantic Slave TradeEdit

Many publications (notably those that promote black history)[23][24] have asserted that Madam Tinubu became a changed person after learning about the evils of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade.[25][26][27]

However, an often cited hagiography about Madam Tinubu by Oladipo Yemitan paints a different picture of an unapologetic and profit minded human trafficker.

On one occasion, during her final sojourn in Abeokuta, she was alleged to have sold a young boy into slavery and was accused of it. When arraigned before Ogundipe Alatise over the matter, she reportedly explained: 'I have a large house-hold and I must feed them well. I need money to do that, that's why'.

slavery never happened in West Africa..
He is related to Tinubu. I think his great/grandmother might have been a distant relative or served in her household. Many of them like that. In my own family sef it’s the bastards that are running things. They are not the true children of the named person but employees children. Not even concubines children. So I know what I am talking about here.

there's no info on his father that I know of...

his mother was probably a married woman so I assume his father's surname was also mogaji.

this is just my assumption since having a child in her era would have led marriage..
So then how are you sure he’s not related to Madam tinubu? Madam Tinubu married several Lagos men and had children for them. None of these children took on their father’s name but their more popular mothers name. You can’t go by name alone in Lagos families. These Tinubus you are seeing today are madame Tinubu’s great grand children if not great great. So there is no proof to what you are saying. He most likely has an affinity with the family. Otherwise they would have denied him publicly.

By the way, having a child in her era would not certainly lead to marriage.

you are entitled to your opinion...

in my opinion, African women (specifically Yoruba and Igbo women) never had multiple husbands in the 1800s but the men had multiple wives due to their wives bringing their friends to them.

I believe bola tinubu is an imposter..
Lol. Not Yoruba women... Yoruba women could marry more than one husband though not at once and they did keep concubines too just like the men. Why do you think the term Omo-Ale came into existence? It’s Yoruba’s believe that only the woman can tell who the father of the child is and that insult is mostly used by men when a child misbehaves because they are saying the child may be a concubines child. Any child the men bring in are known children so they are not termed bastards as such. With Christianity the women have become more limited. Read her biography and you will see that she married a few men. Maybe not more than one at once. You have no proof that he is an imposter only the Tinubu family can come and say if he is or not. He looks a lot like Wale Tinubu too.

like I said you are entitled to your opinion.

her biography was not written by her. you have no proof that she married more than one husband and you have no proof that the picture used to depict her is own picture.

there are people with the same surname that aren't related, so the Tinubu family can't do anything about it..

Yoruba women wouldn't marry more than one husband due to population control and the sacredness of womanhood...
Her biography is written by her children and relatives. They clearly list these men. What concern Yoruba people then with population control? To have control over these men she must have kids for them because children are worth more than Gold in Yoruba culture. You know nothing of the culture sef. These families keep records, you can’t just claim that you belong. You will have to prove your descent with facts.

My fellow Egba person. God bless her. Yorubas setting the pace for humanity since 3333 BC.
Do you realize that you are a goat, a monkey and a baboon? A wicked woman sold her fellow Yorubas as slaves and got rich from it, yet you praise her. the British Parliament banned the slave trade in the1840s. madam tinubu as well as oba dosumu were among the African slave traders that refused to stop selling slaves after the British banned it.

I don't prove with facts since "African historical facts" were not written by Africans...

share links or materials of this woman's biography written by her children...

98% of families don't keep records... the families that have records only have photographs of their grand parents not great grand parents..

you are entitled to your opinion..

I would never accept your opinion and you would never accept mine..

be careful with what you see and read as "facts"...
That your family does not have ancestral records does not mean all families do not. Yoruba’s have Oriki and they do know their ancestors. The older generation also pass on this information so they don’t lose information of where they are from. You are obviously not a Yoruba person so I will stop arguing with you. But we all have family compounds and you must know your ancestral link to identify if you are not known by the family. They will also investigate your claims.
