Guess it was in this conference that he made the senseless "national security overrides the rule of law" statement huh What is the SAN VP Osinbajo saying as regards this statement by his illiterate boss huh
Buhari have never hidden his disdain for our legislation & judiciary hence the prevalence of executive corruption, impunity & recklessness in this regime
Buhari is totally right. A nations national security overrides rule of law because those who are in such positions of law are humans and are prone to error, wrong judgement and corruption.

Its like asking which is better, jail or kill Osama bin laden or pass him through the judicial system hoping that the judges would not be threatened thereby passing a wrong judgment or listening to Osama bin laden say, I want my lawyer before he makes any statement despite everyone knowing he is the very same Osama bin laden who has killed, bombed, etc.

(Osama is dead now but using him as an example is apt."

National security overrides the rule of law. Even in USA that is the norm and that is why CIA is often funded to carry out secret missions that totally go against the rule of law.

'natn'l interest must supercede rule of law' - PMB...This is a very cunning n myopic statement! It can only come from somebody of low intelligence! The rule of law in fact looks out for and protects natn'l interest!!! The law already defines n prescribes wat 'natn'l interest' is. Period.
Buhari is right

Had it been you even understand the meaning of one being illiterate, you would not have come here to insult yourself. Buharis education, experience and exposure is by far better than everybody in your village. because I am sure that non from your entire village has attained his level when you bring the criteria for checking who is an illiterate into consideration.

the difference here is that US never openly violate their own law, rather any breach of law due to national threat, is done in secrecy as a covert operation with 100% chance of denial if it ever leaks

US openly violates laws which contravene national security issues. In fact there is no law in the USA which stands opposed to national security.

To be more exact, on national security issues, the Pentagon overrules all else with whatever decision they take.

The law has its limits in the USA and national security issues is one of them

well all US violation had only always been revealed through wikileaks or rumors for example, torture in Guatamala bay, All CIA assassinations etc. I repeat US would never openly violate its own laws never. pentagon rely solely on the orders of the commander in chief, the law only authorize the president in times of invasion and he must further seek congress approval

smiley in case any one missed the highlight of his speech. he said and I quote ; "Rule of Law must be subject to the supremacy of the nation’s security and national interest. Our apex court has had cause to adopt a position on this issue in this regard and it is now a matter of judicial recognition that; where national security and public interest are threatened or there is a likelihood of their being threatened, the individual rights of those allegedly responsible must take second place, in favour of the greater good of society". Your best bet is to stay out of the way of APC/Buhari/DSS because even a court order can't save you from unlawful detention
Is there anything bad in that statement? Of course, everywhere in the world, national security and national interest over ride other rights of individual. No one should be allowed to hold the national into ramson in the name of rule of Law. Hate it or like it, that is the norm in every country.

no where in the world is the human right of a unconvicted citizen been denied for any reason, national or not, and should a government deem it fit to act unconstitutional cause of national threat or emergency such action are carried out on outmost secrecy as a covert operation. you don't justify lawlessness no matter what.
