That's true but Nigerians who hold conservative values in North America are the obscure minority. The default black orientation is liberal and it has been so for many decades now.

I can tell you that foreign financial institutions are willing to invest in any viable idea in an emerging market even in the US. They are simply there to make money from ideas.

Green card holders are most likely to work for a regional and then flow through to the majors. Usually they are looking at 6 to 10 yrs flying for a regional. Enough time to apply for citizenship. So by the time they flow through to the majors they are already citizens.. Well i still think a green card holder that is a qualified and certificated pilot will not be denied a Job to fly in the US regardless of how long he/she has been living in the US.

It is granted that blacks and minorities suffered horrible atrocities in the past but anyone who continues to accept that as the reason why they are underperforming in key success areas today is adopting the convenient and preposterous position that has gained the upper hand in many circles today.

What I will say about Asian immigrants specifically Indians and Singhs in my own personal observations are..
1. They are coming here with money.
2. They get on one accord.
3. They are resourcing within their own communities.
For example, At my clinic, we do the physicals, drug testing, and paperwork for DoT physicals and licensing.The Singhs in particular are quickly and effectively building their own trucking and construction dynasties. They are hiring each other. And they are generally looking out for each other. Not to mention in my state 2 out of 3 gas stations are Arab owned. I cant still figure this one out.

All these arguments back and forth.

We need ideas to compete with Arabs and Asians.i think we’re tired of car business and show promoters.

Travelling through California I find a lot of motels managed by Indians, I find it a bit surprising.

Venture capitalist wouldn't earn dividend until after a break even period and the best thing that would happen to them is make exit or for the company to go public and sell IPO. Exactly , Jumia was already establishing themselves in Africa before they got funding from foreign investors. Expecting an investor to invest a lot of money for an idea is not realistic. If you watch shark tank , they want to help people expand their business , not an idea. This part of the world is not easy. Asians and middle eastern really help each other and also come with some funding from their country to help set up their businessss here like nail salons , gas stations and liquor stores.

Its unfortunate that many Nigerians in US won't form an investment community like the Asians are doing but rather will think of fellow Nigerians to dupe

Investors want to see patents, prototypes already made, plans already in place and implemented. All these things require money from you to start. Even the Small Business Association which helps small businesses want to see investment on your end. Many of the success stories you have read are from entrepreneurs who got no or little help.

Agree, he should try to get visa first before he start worrying about building business .

Take that out of your mind, as it is hard anywhere in the world. Approach banks in Nigeria and discuss this with them if in doubt.
You have to put your money where your mouth is for others to take you serious.

Love it when we share the same opinion. You're exactly right. Business is risk vs reward. No one is going to risk funds until you have shown that you can risk yours and actually get reward out of it. Put it this way Dremca. If someone came to you for funding it the manner you're proposing and you had it, would you fund them?
