Lawmakers are warning that approving the budget submitted by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) for the 2019 election could lead to a high level of embezzlement, should President Muhammadu Buhari fail to sign the amended Electoral Act, Frontline News Online can exclusively reveal. The expression of worry among lawmakers comes as the 30-day constitutionally stipulated time for the bill to be signed into law ends by Sunday. Deepening tension around the signing of the bill is the fact that, Buhari will today depart for China to participate in the 7th Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) scheduled to hold September 3 – 4, 2018 in Beijing. BMC will not see this fraud. The lifeless one is yet to sign the Electoral Act but they are all shouting about INEC budget so that they can embezzle it. Is this not the highest form of corruption? |

Ballmer:The NASS would do the needful at the right time,,we should all be grateful for a dogged and not a bandwagon NASS. To think the executive is pushing for Inec disbursement without making the card reader machine a compulsory election instrument shows the level of manipulation we are having up there, meaning a new govt can discard that tomorrow with all the efforts we have put it gone to waste. Some of you just comment without knowing the facts... I am sure none of you have read d draft of the amended electoral act, if u did u wouldn't be asking the president to sign it, at least not the way d amendment is. |
