Working in the telecom industry for a while does not make you a core thoroughly bred professional. The fact that you mentioned the sector was privatized 10 yes ago exposed your total ignorance. You need to study hard & stop talking about telecom industry. The telecom sector deregulation by Obj in year 2000/2001 & the Nigeria large land mass & large population would be a case study for you. Only lazy youth will ask a question about what is telecom?

Each international loan has a framework about its utilization. The telecom stakeholders know about how it would be utilized. GSM operators are not the only major stakeholders. Mainly, the CBN & banks are major stakeholders here.

Financial inclusion for the rural areas require telecom infrastructure penetration to the rural areas. Mobile money platform requires telecom backbone. Health. Education, Agriculture & security at the rural areas require telecom infrastructure.

My only objection to the loan is Chinese taking the money back through projects executed by their companies in Nigeria. I am sure majority portion of the money would find their way back to China through projects. The projects would be beneficial to Nigeria.b

For real? China also gave GEJ $500 million for telecoms. CCTV network all over Abuja and Lagos connected to a central police control center in Abuja. The loan came with stipulations that Chinese companies provide all the labor and equipment. So Nigeria basically loaned money from China's to pay Chinese workers and Chinese manufacturers. Presently none of the cameras are working but we are reimbursing China their $500 million for the next 10 years. Jona is no longer there. Now buhari wants to leave us his own $300 million bill. Slave mentality

Do you know about the ongoing contract which the government has with Huawei and Sageto to build data centres which will serve the whole of west Africa? It is the biggest data centre in this part of Africa and it is meant to serve companies and organizations within and without Nigeria. It will be a means of generating revenue for the country.
All the data from BVN, National ID card, INEC and other registrations, guess where it is being held?
I never said corruption is not ongoing... I never said you should trust the government... There's more than enough to steal from NNPC and crude oil sales already.
China is not dashing them this money, they are using it as a means of creating employment for their own people. Huawei is the principal company behind the project and they are monitoring every dollar spent. When the project is done, it will be up to us to make use of what we have been given to create revenue. If we dont, everything will be left to rot as usual.

What do we have to give up in return for the loan?...who would control that sector if and when it comes on board? Loans have to be repaid...how will we?...maybe with oil.The Chinese are long-term planners.... we are short sighted.... very short sighted.
