babaolofin:Of course, the project would be beneficial to Nigeria. Nobody is doubting that. But is it our most pressing need? Is that where we will receive our biggest economic returns? A big NO . |

tobtap:For real? China also gave GEJ $500 million for telecoms. CCTV network all over Abuja and Lagos connected to a central police control center in Abuja. The loan came with stipulations that Chinese companies provide all the labor and equipment. So Nigeria basically loaned money from China's to pay Chinese workers and Chinese manufacturers. Presently none of the cameras are working but we are reimbursing China their $500 million for the next 10 years. Jona is no longer there. Now buhari wants to leave us his own $300 million bill. The money will be embezzled before it gets to Nigeria and the next govt will be left with the burden of repaying this loan. Telecom is not our biggest challenge -at least there is competition in the business. Our biggest challange to business growth is electricity! |

sevule:Do you know about the ongoing contract which the government has with Huawei and Sageto to build data centres which will serve the whole of west Africa? It is the biggest data centre in this part of Africa and it is meant to serve companies and organizations within and without Nigeria. It will be a means of generating revenue for the country. All the data from BVN, National ID card, INEC and other registrations, guess where it is being held? I never said corruption is not ongoing... I never said you should trust the government... There's more than enough to steal from NNPC and crude oil sales already. China is not dashing them this money, they are using it as a means of creating employment for their own people. Huawei is the principal company behind the project and they are monitoring every dollar spent. When the project is done, it will be up to us to make use of what we have been given to create revenue. If we dont, everything will be left to rot as usual. It is obvious you worked in a lowly part of the telecoms sector otherwise you would know, if you know. blackboy:China will actually be selling Telecoms equipment and probably software too worth that amount. Everything runs through the coms, China will have access to our telecooms infrastructure, then do with the information gathered as they like, just like they bugged the AU building they donated. It's no secret why US military banned use of Huawei and ZTE gadgets from all their millitary uses. |

Nigeria government always collecting loans. The Bible says a borrower is a slave to the lender. When will Nigeria start giving out loans? This is just a system of corruption they have devised through the years. More than half of the money will enter their pockets. Politifians. |

Originalsly: Excellent analysis. Through these bogus loans, China is recolonising Africa. You wonder why Germany's Angela Merkel and Britain's Theresa May are re-scrambling for the partition for Africa? Because the west is largely losing Africa to China. Unfortunately, these dead bodies who would soon rot in their graves are selling Africa's birthright and future for a morsel of bread. 1 Like |
