Members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance have reacted as the party resolved to field its presidential candidate to the north, while the vice presidential candidate is said to come from the south east, The Punch reports.

It was learnt that the party through its board of trustees and national working committee made the decision. The secretary of the board, Sani Shinkafi, is said to have confirmed the decision.

He said: “After due considerations based on popular demand by party members, the party has resolved to field a presidential candidate with the ticket zoned to the north, while the vice presidential candidate will come from the south east.

”The decision cannot stand. It’s undemocratic and dictatorial. APGA has not taken any decision on the 2019 presidential ticket. any person or group of persons purporting that such decision has been taken by our great party are on their own.

“My advice is that certain people should not allow their personal interests to destroy this party that had cost us our time and resources

It was gathered that a meeting of the BOT and NWC is expected to hold on September
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the APGA said it would present a presidential candidate for the 2019 elections and will not make the same mistake it made in 2015.

The party did not field a presidential candidate for the 2015 presidential election and there were reports that this was because of its alleged alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party to support its candidate.

Ifeatu Obi-Okoye who is the publicity secretary APGA said the party has now resolved to produce a presidential candidate and that this has been agreed by the national working committee of the party.

Obiano should stare clear of APC........unless he wants to end his political future in Anambra state.

if APGA goes one with what it's doing then PDP will definitely lose the presidency to APC. APGA is about to break the back of PDP because most APGA supporters, also support PDP. So, the SE that should have been atleast 90% for PDP will probably split into PDP and APGA. it's even worse if APGA fields a poplar northerner like Kwakwaso, Atiku or Sule Lamido, depending on which oof them fail to clinch the PDP ticket.

I disagree with you. You're assuming the electorates are stupid. A lot that would vote APGA in governorship election wouldn't necessarily vote APGA in presidential election.

I've been suspecting that Obiano has a deal with Buhari and APC. His sudden trip to join Buhari in China is ominous and now APGA is Fielding a presidential candidate from the north in an election PDP needs all the Southern votes they can get!!

Based on results of last governorship election in the state and the bad blood of Peter Obi factor, I don't think the APGA elites are too eager to partner with PDP. They may even be more open to a last minute and strategic gentleman agreement with APC I think. Anambra has proved that they are willing to stand alone in their own interest in the region, if need be.

Lol. This people will not kill Nigeria. Let me do and pack my kaya. Wether APC, PDP or APGA, we know the end result and what will become of Nigeria for another 4 or 8 years.
