Yes. (Except my memory fails me, its been a while). After my masters, my school gave me three complimentary copies. Unaddressed. In three different sealed envelopes. Stamped across the seal.

And then my own student copy for my viewing pleasure.

If your current office refuses to give you a reference letter or refuses to give it in the CIC format, will an appointment letter, payslips and bank statements showing salary payments and an LOE suffice to show proof of employment?

I think the information on page 1 only addressed a situation where one is unable to get a reference letter because the company no longer exists.

I need to plan ahead so that I know the next steps to take if I cannot get a reference letter

If they do not want to give in CIC format, collect in whatever format they give, add all you mentioned and you can get a colleague to do a letter stating your job descriptions etc, attach his ID card and notorize them. You should be okay with that. Also check Page one/previous posts, such scenario has been discussed and how it was handled. All the best
