/ The doctor is the one being ignorant. The banks are doing exactly what they are supposed to do--taking people's money and making money out of it. A bank is not a charity organization. Why do people keep money in the banks? It is because of the security they provide. Security comes with a price. He has an option of finding a cheaper bank or keeping his money to himself. Banking is not mandatory. / 2 Likes |

If they don't charge how will they pay their staffs and maintain the services they are offering you? How will they have funds to laon you for that crucial business deal? Besides a bank is a business venture and not a no for profit organization. I think that fellow on twitter enjoys showing his ignorance and illiteracy while trying to sound or seem smart! What do I know sef? 1 Like 1 Share |

Honestly Nigeria banks are scammers , a former bank official confirm this to me they have a way of extorting their customer and this so sad. Running a current acct in Nigeria is like putting your money down the drain you pay stamp duties , card maintenance etc. |

some people are here still defending what is not right. money saved in a bank allows the bank to use it for business.......this alone should be enough to settle its running cost among others. but when it comes to extortion.....it's called stealing. imagine, using an ATM that as been coded to dispense 10k so you can be charge 65.0 on each withdrawal. meanwhile in Benin republic the ATM there dipsense the total amount you are allowed in a day at once. 3 Likes |

This is something our regulatory authority- CBN should check, probably they don't charge them. The Banks have lost idea on how to generate income, so they keep devising means of charging the account, even if you do not do any transactions. Several charges like card maintenance charges, payment for the issuance of Card, sms alert, Account Maintenance. Honestly, i don't know why they are charging account maintenance, the role of the Bank is to keep the money. There are better ways of making money through the customers, not through the crude way. If they need help, we can assist them. The CBN should wake up and stop this nonsense of charges. 3 Likes |

I know if I start talking about this particular bank, people will be wondering if any sensible person still patronize them, but you can't blame me cos its not my fault. In NYSC camp we were compelled to open account with any bank our tag number falls under as we were divided among the banks present. After the account was activated people were receiving 2050 naira from keystone but I was not given, I waiter for days but mine never came and I simply gave up on them. We were all given our ATM cards when leaving camp and 1050 was deducted from those that received 2050. After the stress we went through, my dearest bank was unable to pay us allawee and we had to supply another bank details to receive that. After my first allawee I decided to transfer some amount into my keystone account and they removed 1050 immediately (in my mind, yea that should be for the card). Two months later I received a debit alert of 2050 on my phone with a message stating(ATM RECOVERY FEE). I visited their nearest branch the following week and hitherto, they couldn't explain why the money was deducted. I requested for a refund (for where, maybe next year) The other time Access bank charged me 350naira for SMS alert and I was wondering if we were chatting, even my Whatsapp doesn't consume 350naira per month.. I ttayya for all of them!!! 6 Likes |

Access bank charged me 528 naira for message alert... I called them to complain and the said I should go to any of their branch and disable SMS alerts. They say they charge #4 per message they send me... Can u imagine? Even UBA with all their madness can't charge that amount for SMS alert 2 Likes |
