I really want to know why we treat our local breed like shit when they can also be trained and cared for like other foreign breeds we adore this dogs walk about because of lack of attention by the so called owners or are they satisfied with eating from the garbage cans or wondering about in the streets?? I Think its time we start valuing what we have instead of making them social out casts

The normal price of a regular or low quality gsd ranges between 15-35k no matter what u feed that dog with, you can't sell it the price you will sell a Caucasian or even the price of a quality slant back gsd

I agree, a well fed Nigerian dog ( that is if one can still find pure bloodlines) will never attain the size of a BB or Caucasian Shepherd.. I just think it's the nature of the breed to stay slim since they are natural hunting dogs with lots of energy.. That's my thinking ooo.

Yes we can't make them turn into English dogs buh u can make this local breed worth more than what they are valued for

Get rid of all the stray local dogs on the street (animal control) and see if this dogs won't be scarce thereby gets more value...Just saying tho

That's their specie, its not only in Nigeria, my example of regular Gsd and slant bk gsd should explain why d price won't appreciate except for recession

But you can actually fatten them up, I have seen some fat ones, the reasons why most of the ones you saw a slim is because they are owned by peasants who don't feed them they just leave them to go fend for themselves.

Thank you brother, my friends local breed of dog is really BIg asin it is well fed and never leaves the compound it doesn't even eat anything except from his plate
