Tax the hell out of MTN the fraudulent network

They tricked me to buy 5 gig and get 5 gig , i bought it and never got the promo

Even their 5 gig data doesn't last a month , upon the whole self to watch video of 1hr 45 mins you have to wait for 3 hours for it to stream

Tax them for the future if possible

MTN Oshi
I hope you know it's Nigerians that will still pay this fine like the other one ..open your mind man

Ogun kill you there, Who is your Kid ??

Have you for once asked yourself why always MTN ?? Why is MTN trying to dodge it's obligations to the country that has allowed it to grow over the years with no problems whatsoever ??

Telcos are all over ready and waiting for Go-Ahead from the FG or whoever is in charge of that shyyt

Were you blind dead or dumb when it was revealed that some of your so called Politicians were collecting kickbacks in hundreds of millions in USD from MTN in order for MTN to avoid paying tax ??

If MTN was to do business in UK or USA , are you saying the company won't pay tax ?? that either of the country will wait for 10 years before collection ??

You are just a kid. After you've treated MTN like this, you think any other Telco would want to come to Nigeria? So they can suffer to build then you take it from them?

How many foreign Telcos have entered Nigeria since Buhari took over? Instead they are living.

I see Tinubu has got an eye on MTN.

Tell me why any other business would like to do business in Nigeria after what has happened to MTN and Etisalat. They want to chase MTN out as they did etisalat so they can share it among their cronies.
That's the plan

Before MTN came to Nigeria, how many countries have their presence? Since 2001, they have expanded to several countries. I bought my first SIM card at 30K. With very poor quality of service at inception, they charged 50 naira per minute and you hardly spent 15 second before the call is lost. Even if you spent 1 second and call drops, you still pay 50 naira until GLO came. The rapid expansion of MTN to other countries is because of the money coming from Nigeria.

The things MTN should do is to appoint a Nigerian as either CEO or CFO. I believed Mike Ikpoki was not given a free hand as CEO before the NCC fine came. Secondly & more importantly, MTN should be quoted on the stock market (Nigerian Stock Exchange). In telecom, subscribers base is very important. With MTN subscribers base in Nigeria, it has become a bride to international investiment companies. They must go to stock market.

If NCC knows that it's doing Nigerians shouldn't bear the brunt , this company has raked enough profit already and what the FG is demanding is a chicken change compared to what some stupid bankers helped MTN to launder

If NCC knows what it's doing MTN would be forced to provide quality service and no additional cost or pain to Nigerians ,

You are the only one who is thinking what i am thinking so far , I bet the NCC guys are just figureheads , they travel abroad for the fun, not to see how things work ..... All communications service providers need to be on their feet at all times to provide the best for consumers , but when Alert sounds in Barclays bank , NCC guys go into hibernation mode

lexy2014:
thats d fault of NCC. After taxing them 4 this, d bad service continues. Presently NCC is dead and these telecoms are having a field day doing whatever they like

Go read up the Chinese model for development then come back for a conversation.

Wait!!!. Lemme save you the stress and data. Way back, just a little over when the war (with Japan) ended with the help of the allied forces, the Chinese decided to take up their destinies and never be at the mercy of any country or force. So they came up with a policy that made them a "soloist" country. If they were human, they became introverted.

The slogan was "If we can't produce it, we aren't worthy of its use".

You can attest to the fact that Nigerians until the turn of the millennium had more cars than the Chinese. Not because they hadn't the technology, but because they were perfecting it and were still very proud of their imitation from the British, "Bicycles".

If we stick to Nigerian goods by purpose, the manufacturers will be forced by competition to improve and Africa will queue behind us for good.

Our entertainment industry is a good case in point.

Why is this APC led FG so mean to MTN since it came into power? Why are they trying to push them out of Business or Nigeria. I think there is a strong policy of "MTN must leave " being pursued by this government. Someone wants to buy it off from the South Africans by force. Please leave MTN alone.

Folks, look at the big picture.

I dont know MTN but I know they employ a lot of people and they put food on their tables and send their children to school. MTN must be one of the top 20 employers in this our destructive environment, where the political elite destroy everything around, yet their own children can live extremely lavish lifestyles in expensive capitals around the world.

There are many offenders. Let the biliionaire politicians make public their taxes. You will be shocked how they pay next to nothing, where as some of them could have girlfriends in virtually all of the 36 states in the country. At whose expense you ask! The tax revenue in Nigeria is largely from salaries of workers. Yet, they can point to MTN as evading tax. Which MNC in Nigeria is not evading one levy or the other?

Look at the big picture.

If MTN crashes out who will take over their massive capital investments? The public will gain nothing. Some unintended beneficiary somewhere will take home the loot! And our economy may just sink deeper in the mud.

Should we not look at the big picture? In the last two weeks, at least 2 international banks have been fined. And we have a whole army of politicians junketing the globe looking for 'global investors! Na so, in fact get ready to receive 100 Boeing 747 on daily basis, all arriving to come and invest!

Big picture. If MTN goes, who takes over their goods? Definitely not the people crying uhuru here.

Don't mind those simpletons.

Tax evasion is a big crime anywhere and MTN must pay.

We've read of the likes of Messi, Ronaldo and even Jose Mourinho being sentenced for similar crimes those ones no even talk say dem no go work again.

Out of hatred for government you would find all manner of unpatriotic and frankly speaking, idiotic statements.

So the philosophy of an "Average Nigerian" is to stay under the monopoly of foreign countries, importing junk and spewing hate for government whenever a policy to reverse the trend is set in motionhuh.

Do you know how much jobs these guys rob us ofhuh. Not to mention the "Philosophy of Laziness" that comes with it.

I dislike Buhari's government and will never ever vote for or support his reelection but my love for Nigeria is bigger than my hate for Buhari.

What have Nigerian companies been able to manage to World class standards? The only Nigerian owned Telco is at the most average. Replace them with Naija alternatives my foot.

After Leventis, Kingsway and UTC stores went under in this country due to our poor economy, which indigenous Nigerian supermarkets measured up to scratch before Shoprite came?

but the time frame was not that much between them and econet. more over econet network was not strong and far reaching as mtn. so mtn was the prefered choice then, hence the opportunity for them to dupe nigerians, until the entrance of glo into the market. it was glo that actually saved the situation. as for ntel, they 've always being a struggling network. indeed mtn was not fair to nigerians.
