I'm new here and I've been following the thread. I appreciate all the gurus in the house providing valuable information.

I submitted my online application on May 31st and did my biometrics on June 4th. There has been no update on my account since then. I have submitted a web form requesting for an update and also sent emails to the Lagos, London and Accra offices but still no response.

My school (TRU) resumes today and I've been asked to defer to Jan 2019 but I'm hoping to get approval within the next week.

My challenge is that I don't know if the school has a deadline for deferment. I will appreciate any advise from the gurus in the house.

AMEN. i got an agent to do my first application and she got me a pgd in IT, clearly she didn't know it was beneath my grade and all cos i have a 2,1 so i reapplied with the same admission since i hadn't gotten any other admission and hoped it didn't matter that it was a pgd since it was still related to my first degree but i got a second refusal and was lucky one of the schools i applied to got back in touch with me after a long wait this time a masters in computer science so i applied again and i am hopeful.

I am no guru, but i suggest you defer regardless cos there is nothing like being organized especially when starting something important plus classes definitely start today and you would definitely be behind even if they respond next week. Have you done medicals though?

Rather than guessing, why not write the international students office for guidance?

You won't be the first prospective student in this situation so they might have put in place laid down procedures to treat such cases.

Am 23yrs graduated 2016 [Bsc in Biochemistry with a 2.1], youth service 2016-2017(Ministry of environment and mineral resources), I have a professional certificate in Health safety security and environment (HSSE level 1,2 &3) which I did during my service year. I applied and got admission for a 2yrs post secondary diploma in ( Healthcare and environmental services management) in centennial college. Tutition fees paid. $8000cad
I was denied based on family ties, purpose of visit, and personal assets and financial status. My most confusing problem is in this personal assets and financial status, I indicated my dad is my sponsor, provided his company bank statement of #700million inflow and #40Million as closing balance, his CAC, memorandum of association, with his sponsorship letter, he is the ceo and signatory to the acc, also submitted a board of resolution letter from the company written by my mum with company letterhead because she is one of the directors.
I don’t have a personal landed property though my father has lands and houses, I filled in my form that am currently working in that same my dad’s company as the company’s secretary, which I joined this year Jan after service in dec, no employment proof was added like employment, introduction or leave Letter, as I joined the group late.
Since my admission has been deferred to next year fall, I plan to start crediting my acc with 100k monthly with my father’s company name as depositor name ,as per salary for the next 6months, and this will sum up to like #980000 as I want to present my personal SOA in my next application.
I don’t know if the VO will check if that money have been entering since this year Jan I said I started working, or do they just go through the submitted bank statement?
Hope this can solve the personal assets issue , points on other refusal reasons are welcomed. Already ordered my GCMS note but I still need more clarification

Hello June 12th applicant, I sent a webform a week ago about my delay, I got a response that my application is under active review after two days. Today my current status just changed to Application/profile updated and my review of eligibility just started today. Please why is it saying updated?

My school has given me a deadline of September 17th for either registration or deferral. I'm thinking I should just defer because I haven't heard a word from CIC since I did biometrics on July 10th. Even if I'm asked to go for medicals before 17th, I seriously doubt being approved before the date. Should I just do the deferral now rather than waiting till sometimes around September 10th?
These VOs no dey try at all. Each time I want to complain, I remember Jnyuwa02 whose application has been on for more than 6 months, yet no final decision.
I am sure the waiting won't be in vain.

It's updated because there's a change in your eligibility review as against when your status was just submitted.

personal assets and financial status- Since you have declared being employed, pay stubs, salary account in your name, pension statement, fixed deposit or other investments will suffice for this.

The problem lies at the bolded. After having a 2:1, why go for a mere post secondary diploma? This doesn't show a logical progression in your academics. Why not try and apply for a Masters or at least a Post Graduate Diploma? Your finances are OK, the problem lies with you going for a course that's far lesser than a certificate you already have.
