Let us imagine for a minute that FG is sincere with rehabilitation of Enugu Intl, airport. 1. It will like it did in Abuja find an alternative nearest airport (Sam Mbakwe International Cargo airport, Owerri) and rehabilitate it as it did for Kaduna Intl airport to take the diverted flights from Abuja. 2. It will fix and announce the date which the airport must re-open as it did for Abuja airport. It will not hide under "Rehabilitation" to close the airport indefinitely. 3. It will ensure Enugu passesngers experience minimum discomfort by providing buses to shuttle them from Owerri Intl airport back to Enugu as it provided buses for Abuja passengers landed in Kaduna. But, i can tell you what the FG is planning is to 1. Close Enugu international airport indefinitely 2. Divert the already scheduled flights to Lagos and abandon the passengers in Lagos to find their way 3. Will not announce when the airport must re-open, nor prepare the closest airport in Owerri to take the diversion, instead they will keep Enugu international airport closed indefinitely until nobody remember to ever book a flight to Enugu or the airline gives up. |

bigcasava1:This has nothing to do with Jonathan. Jonathan did more for Kano intl and Kaduna airports than Enugu intl airport. He ONLY authorized international flight in Enugu, while he built the Kaduna new terminal, Kano new terminal buildings and indeed new brand new terminal buildings in all northern airports! He facilitated more airlines coming into Kano intl, yet you guys are so hateful. Jonathan was from Bayelsa, yet invested in northern airports! What can any airport in southern Nigeria say they have benefited from this northern President? He is keen on reversing the achievements of other Presidents on southern airports. |

Cjrane2:From their talk, you already know their plot is to close down Enugu indefinitely and divert all her traffic to Lagos, Abuja and Kano. Just follow their timeline of charade and you will clearly see their diabolical intentions to close down Enugu Intl. airport by any means necessary. In December, 2017, they said the runway was bad and had to close the airport for almost one month during he evening period to "Fix" the runway. In January, they declared the runway was "fixed" and ready. (Question was "Why didn't they get PWC the builders of the runway to "fix" it based on contractual agreement they signed in 2012?) In March, they sent Senate committee to call for closure of the airport. In June, they sent Minister of state for communication, Sariki, to go and ask Enugu State government for demolition of "Obstacles" which are miles away from the airport. In August, this man is coming back to say it is the runway they will rehabilitate again. Yet they say, they will divert to the closest airport for the convenience of the Enugu passengers. The closest airports to Enugu are OWERRI and Port Harcourt! The video interview, the man was running away from saying the runway was bad because he remembers well that they closed the airport in December to "Fix" the runway. So he is finding other lies to tell. Buhari should just leave Enugu airport alone. He already slashed the budget for the airport blaming senators for it. Seeing that budget cut will not make the airport to close down, he is now using childish lies from the pits of hell to try and close it down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOCe5d4-hVc |

ashjay001:Everyone simply wants A REHABILITATION PLAN to be adopted and ANNOUNCED the way they did the Abuja airport. 1. Announce the closest airport (OWERRI) where Enugu flights will be diverted for convenience of passengers. The way you refused to divert Abuja traffic to Lagos and chose (KADUNA) as closest airport. 2. Upgrade the closest airport to take Enugu traffic the way you upgraded Kaduna to take Abuja traffic. 3. Announce a fixed time period the runway resurfacing should have completed the way you did when Abuja airport was closed. If these things are done, everyone will see the sincerity in the closure and not saying you just want to close the airport indefinitely for "repairs" which we know you are NEVER going to do any "Repairs". |

hammer6F:It's really dehumanizing what Ndiigbo pass through in this country. We all know what they want to achieve with this closure. It's demonic and totally unfair. Yet we are supposed to have Igbo political office holders, who were supposedly elected to fight for us and bring issues like this to the fore of public debate and awareness of the undercurrent sinister motives. But that's not happening. Yet these shameless political office holders in Igboland parade themselves around shamelessly while their people suffer in humiliation. Igbo history will not be fair to the current brand of Political office holders in Igboland and all those amongst us who support them. Water would eventually find its level, this too will pass. There is a limit to the amount of suppression you can subject a people under until they rather chose death than take it anymore. |

pazienza:Part of the reasons Ndigbo pass through these things is that nobody pays attention to import issues like this and call them out exactly for what they are. Plot by the Buhari FG to deny the entire region any type of international access whatsoever! Yet, they are doing everything humanly possible to shore up Kaduna airport which is just 2 hours away from Abuja or Kano! Ndigbo must drop this "I don't care" attitude and maintain watchful vigilance and resist such brazen oppressive agenda |

The FG is still adamant to divert all Enugu flights to Lagos instead of Owerri or Port Harcourt airports which are the closest convenient airports for the passengers. Tomorrow, they are the first to say they want to carry out rehabilitation as they did in Abuja while diverting flights to the closest airports for the convenience of the passengers. Well, they diverted Abuja flights to Kaduna which was just 2 hours away instead of Lagos which was 8 hours away by road So why must Enugu flights be diverted to Lagos which is 10 hour away instead of Owerri which is 2 hours away by road? You will smell the bad faith and hypocrisy in everything they say and do. |
