This is a simple phenomenon,
Federal Universities don't admit pple below 16years of age,
If it were to be a state university or private, his age does not matter, he did get admitted.
Meanwhile i had a friend who got admission @ university of Ibadan, bt she had to defy her admission till she come of age...

Why did they allowed him to write the jamb in the first place.

I heard the boy had been offered scholarship in a sixth form college in Lagos. Bridge House College in Ikoyi.

The 15-year-old who stunned the general public by his outstanding performance, was not allowed to take part in the post UTME exams, he has been asked to try again next year when he comes of age.

Efforts to contact relevant authorities as to whether he could be considered for special admission has proved abortive as authorities say the law must be followed.

The lad however has come to terms with the surrounding suituations and says he will wait for the next year's admission.

According to sun news, David who hopes to become a neurosurgeon, had his passion activiated when he watched doctors battle to save the life of his late father when he was 8 years old, and since then vowed to study medicine so he can save lives.

With his father late, david is currently been sponsored by his mother and family members who are proud of him.

That’s not young. Same age i wrote waec,jamb and entered Uni after a few months. Studied a five year course and graduated at 20-21yrs. Make dem free the young man Abeg

As much as the boy should be encouraged maybe, by giving him a differed admission, the law (where it exist) must be obeyed or reviewed. Here, the required age to enter college is 18, and if you are one day less 18, if you like, be the best student in the world or the child of US president, you won't be admitted.

I also want to say that brilliance and maturity are two different things. If he is admitted now and he graduates at 22max, he certainly would be emotionally unstable to attend to so many medical issues especially in a country like Nigeria.

Also, in the US, medicine is a second degree, the main reason for that is to ensure medical doctors are academically and emotionally matured.

That's why they have special schools for gifted children. There are some 13 yr olds in American universities because they realized these group of kids are exceptional and making them go through the normal education system retards their development. We still have a long way to go in this country. There are kids with I.Q greater than 140 and keeping them with their average mates would retard their development.

I understand your Fears bro but u need to know the Capacity and Capabilities of the body or owners who own the institution before u enter..
All the same Being in CU has a great impact on my life... I remember how we thought then that we were in prision and all dt...Atimes we felt like running mad...

All in all am so grateful and Happy I passed thru CU and CU passed thru me...

Many of us today from the 2002 set who were weird and stubborn are Pastors and Men and Women of GOD doing great things in our various field..
