[s] Makawhizzy:[/s] I did know I was conversing with a corruption sympathiser. Any human being that considers TSA desperado move simply is out of his depth intellectually. Government was wasting it resources borrowing from the same banks which held its money. TSA brought a stop to that. Banks are now in the opposition? Oga please park well and ponder on what you are saying. |

naijapips04:Maybe you should read the article again. Enquiry showed that the banks claimed the money was suppose to be dashed to them by fg, hence they are not suppose to pat back. The last time I checked banks are owned by private individuals they should pay back public fund but the govt can reschedule it for them. |

contigiency:Are you so thick that you can't independently verify information? There's no way CBN will leave $7b for banks since 2008. Heritage and Mainstreet bank have paid theirs. These banks have only N25b each with the CBN and you think they'd pay off 4 trillion in how many years? The id*ot Oblong whatever is being clever by half. If any staff in the CBN told him the money was given out as a freebie, that individual should be locked up. Because it invariably means the money the banks have been paying since then may not have been returned to the FG coffers like the NNPC nonsense. This unidirectional trash is why corruption is so massive under this administration. Someone of his standing can independently verify any claim made by the CBN. No CBN staff born of a woman woulda told NOI that rubbish and have a job by the end of the month. That is the height of ridicule, and I'm sure Emefiele will sort it out in due course. Every year the banks contribute hundreds of billions into the Banking Sector Resolution Cost Fund to absorb the cost of the financial crises. In 2016, it was N136 billion. Moghalu who is a Presidential Candidate for 2019 was the CBN Deputy Governor in charge of Financial System Stability when that Fund was set up. It is disgusting that these f*cktards will play politics with everything. MTN was downgraded by Moody because of the repatriation controversy, now they are coming up with this trash when all the facts are freely available. That uninformed tw#ts like you will swallow it line, hook, and sinker is not surprising. The average Nigerian is daft beyond belief and wouldn't take the 5 minutes necessary to verify a piece of information. -Lord |

slowie:Which stupid article is that? Stop reading APC propaganda. These banks have been repaying these loans the the year after they borrowed them. |
| Re: Presidential Panel To Recover $7bn Bailout Funds From Banks by LordAdam16: 9:42am On Sep 08, 2018 |
slowie:Maybe you should check through whatever you type before attempting to correct someone else. According to the article, it was the CBN that claimed the money "was dashed." The banks can't claim that because they've been paying back, two tier-2 banks have paid back completely. And I doubt anyone at the CBN remotely connected to the bailout program will tell that educated illiterate such. I would not be surprised he misrepresented whatever he was told. For example, some of the chronic NPLs by the banks were assumed by the AMCON who pursue the creditors independently. If the AMCON is unable to collect the debt, it'd be written off as a loss. And since the AMCON is owned by the FG, it'd appear as though the FG dashed money. This is what happens when id*ots who have no financial background hold sensitive positions and make silly, unverifiable statements simply to play politics. -Lord |

naijapips04:This one is just playing politics with the issue. He is covering for PDP. Guys if buhari leaves power today, do u guys think anybody will talk bout this money again??.....the moni don go. Trillions of public fund in d hands of a few individuals and yet we cry why we r d headquarters of poverty. God will judge u for not standing on the path of truth. What is annoying me is that this same fellow will fault the 10000 given to petty traders |

Alzirida:Hahahahaha. So are u saying those profits declared were fake? There is no how a bank would not be able to subscribe for DSTV. i guess someone is not doing his or her job that’s it. |

Makawhizzy:chairman all dis banks have money ooo. Zenith bank ALONE presently I think is Worth $10billion or so.so the proper thing for the banks to do is to return our money as they are since out of the tough time .$7billion can do a lot to our decayed infrastructure. |
| Re: Presidential Panel To Recover $7bn Bailout Funds From Banks by nairamaniac: 2:29pm On Sep 09, 2018 |
patani:I am APC than anything else. But I admit wrong wen spotted. Sudden Implementation of Treasury Single Account (TSA)- This policy threw the banking and financial sector into turmoil as huge sums were swept out of banks and dormantly stashed into a preferred safe. The industry that recorded the most number of job-losses was the bank industry. Also, most trades, turn-overs, businesses, contracts by individual/companies are done thru the banks. The immediate mop out of that cash created a sudden vacuum which kept all those mentioned factors at a standstill over a period of time, till the banks could catch up. When a bank that is suppose to have 1trillion naira and can release 10billion to the economy thru its customers cannot release even 10million naira, it causes over-valuation of monies that are readily available or in circulation which leads to inflation and recession. The goverment should and should have treaded more carefully with banks, cos they handle/hold more than 80% of money that goes in and out of circulation. |

The dullard and his masturbating zombies are hallucinating over something they know nothing about. What stops these people from publishing how much was given to banks and what efforts they have made to recover these funds? For the avoidance of any doubts, these funds were given to these banks to manage. They are like deposits and President Buhari and APC were never in the dark about it. See FOI request on this since July 2015, which Buhari has NOT RESPONDED TO: Our APC zombie and lazy yoots would rather blame PDP than use their heads. APC and Obla of a scam would rather give you half baked news in the name of fighting corruption. Please, read below request to Buhari since 2015, which he never remembered: "July15, 2015 President Muhammadu Buhari Nigerian Presidential Complex Aso Rock Presidential Villa Abuja Your Excellency, RE: $7 BILLION ‘SOFT LOAN’ GRANTED TO CONSORTIUM OF BANKERS IN 2006 BY THE CBN Civil Society Network Against Corruption (CSNAC) is a coalition of over hundred and fifty Anti-corruption organizations whose primary aim is to constructively combat corruption vigorously and to ensure the effective monitoring of the various Anti-graft agencies in the fight against corruption and contribute towards the enthronement of transparency, accountability, probity and total commitment in the fight to eradicate corruption in Nigeria. On October 4th 2006, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), through its Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Festus Odoko had disclosed that the CBN had apportioned $7billion out of the nation’s external reserves, which stood at $38.07 billion, as at the end of July, 2006, to 14 global asset managers and their 14 Nigerian banks local partners, to manage. The amount reportedly bequeathed to the asset managers represented 18.39 per cent of the total external reserves and was hitherto kept with foreign banks. The 14 global asset managers and their local counterparts were i. Black Rock and Union Bank of Nigeria Plc; ii. J.P. Morgan Chase and Zenith Bank Plc; iii. H.S.B.C and; First Bank of Nigeria Plc; iv. BNP Paribas and Intercontinental Bank Plc; v. UBS and United Bank for Africa Plc; vi. Credit Suisse and IBTC Chartered Bank Plc; vii. Morgan Stanley and Guaranty Trust Bank Plc; viii. Fortis and Bank PHB Plc; ix. Investec and Fidelity Bank Plc; x. ABN Amro and Access Bank Plc; xi. Cominvest and Oceanic Bank Plc; xii. ING and Ecobank Plc; xiii. Bank of New York and Stanbic Bank Plc and; xiv. Crown Agents and Diamond Bank Plc. According to the reports, CBN gave each asset manager, $500m of the external reserves to manage. Almost nine years after this pronouncement, no public report or account has been rendered by CBN on these the $500 million given to each of the banks. Also realizing that 3 of the banks (Intercontinental Bank, Bank PHB and Oceanic) were bought over by other banks and or liquidated between 2006 and now." - Copied This prompted CSNAC in a letter dated, June 17, 2015 (sent through IFEX Express Limited Postal service, with their assurance that the letter got to destination on June 25th, 2015), under the Freedom of Information Act, to request for information on the $7billion ‘soft loan’ granted to the aforementioned 14 consortium of bankers. Under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act, 2011, which stipulates that such information should be received within 7 days to the applicants. However, till today ... after confirmation of delivery to the CBN governor, no acknowledgment or response from the apex bank has been received by our organisation. The Bank’s non-response reeks of deceit and lack of transparency. Perhaps, those involved assume Nigerians suffers collective amnesia and will not remember. We do remember and we are asking questions without answers. CSNAC is hereby requesting that the Presidency probes this matter and inform Nigerians exactly what is going on or has gone wrong with the $7 billion soft loan. Instead of Obla to come out and mis-inform the public, he should help ask CBN and Buhari to provide answers to the letter above and tell Nigerains where the proceeds of these deposits since they took office in 2015 have been received into. Also, most of the affected banks and foreign counterparts are still around. Why announce recovery plan before action Typical APC approach of crying "corruption fight" before reasoning! |
