Truthfully, I wanted to be a teacher. I enjoy teaching others but my aunt who was a teacherwhen I lived in AL discouraged me. Now my patience level has decreased and I just want to cut straight to giving the answers.

Yeah..see the thing about teaching is it's good for married people with kids cause of the summer and paid holidays throughout the year. However, there are so many things that get into the way of truly teaching the kids...and it becomes so stressful.
It's a 24/7 job...never-ending and there's a high turn-over rate for inner city schools.
The baby-boomers are still working simply cause they can't afford to retire...although they want to.

Ummm....I thought about it for a moment. Tons of people have suggested that.
But I would need to get a doctorate..not sure I want to commit to 4 more years for something I'm not passionate about (on that level).
Doctorates can help or hurt certain careers..
I'm looking at possible options that have little to do with education at the moment...so we'll see.

I hate to get back on this topic. However, the way some of you analyze subject matters baffles me. You attack things based on "face values". No in-depth analysis.

My lifestyle is way too laid back to be involved in politics. Also as a first generation immigrant I was too busy with regular life. I watch my children now though and I am very proud of the fact that I created a comfortable foundation for them so they can take time to pursue some of those things that I didn't have the opportunity to pursue. This is what life is all about as far as I am concerned.

I still won't get into politics when I get back to Nigeria. My ideologies and solutions will not be mainstream and will be tremendously unpopular. I think the younger generation should be given a chance. Nigeria desperately needs a Kennedy, a Bush or an Obama. A younger and educated President can do wonders especially when you couple it with a senior council of elders like Gowon, Soyinka, etc It doesn't need someone like me.

I'll be too busy anyways in my retirement with checking off my bucket list by traveling across Africa by land and other activities such as running a foundation that I am setting up to give back to the rural communities that I grew up in. I will prefer to be an unknown element, a recluse of sorts. I don't desire nor cherish the limelight.

If I can't have the ability to sit down at a joint with friends and drink beer then "What Is Life?"

The trump immigration reform is affecting both legal and illegal. I live here in the south and I have seen people get deported because of expired license. This is something that hardly happen during Obama’s or bush.

While FOB, I bought my first car with just ID and SSN given to me then in school and I can’t count countless times I was stopped by the cops.. they never took me in or asked for my immigration papers or detained me for ice to pick me up..

Now if you get stopped and the officers sense your accent or name. He’ll most likely asked you bout your legal status (fact). Also, you Can’t get a car loan anymore if you don’t have PR or citizenship.

A Nigerian dude with PR is currently in removal proceeding for spitting on his wife. The judge denied him bond despite the fact that he has a child. Again, the republicans are doing all these to tackle Democrats advantage on immigrant.

Certified 6th-12th...but have dabbled in each grade from K-12th.
This past year was my first at a parochial school where I had [i]multi-gtades 3-7 in one [/i]classroom..whew is all I can say...lol.
Practically every public high school teacher wants the highly coveted 11th and 12th graders for sure. So much less hassle...lol.
I had the least coveted grade in all schooling for some years: 7th grade!! What a challenge it was.

Had one period like that each year because I was really good bringing up kids that were behind. 20 kids between 6th-11th in one class. That's the crazy times lol. I intentionally didn't get certified k-6 because I CANNOT deal with those grades
