Honestly, teaching is my love. I almost opened a school in Nigeria but then realised if I did I wouldn't get to do what I loved which was actually teach. I'd be stuck doing admin stuff. The kids are so grateful when the finally GET it.

I always chose the "troubled" schools to teach at and never regretted it. I way preferred then to the kids at the "white" schools. Those kids were willing to work hard for everything and for a lot of them, the were the first in their families that would make it to college. School was important to them.

But I would need to get a doctorate..not sure I want to commit to 4 more years for something I'm not passionate about (on that level).
Doctorates can help or hurt certain careers..
I'm looking at possible options that have little to do with education at the moment...so we'll see.

Not necessarily. I taught at the University of Texas school of public health with a Masters. You'll just be restricted to entry and leveling courses and won't be able to get tenure. Personally though, I preferred teaching high school to grad school.

I'm doing Business Administration now, I will be done in 6 months. After which my dream job is working for The Small Business Association or Minority Business Association. Either way, not for profit. Then once I get hired by someone, I will get my MBA at my employer's expense.

I love Marketing but decided to do Business Administration because there are so many more avenues and options, unless you know for sure you want to specialize in something like Accounting. That's my advice to you.

Anyways how's this for a derailer topic; no self-respecting individual should bother going to college except for a STEM degree. Any degree outside STEM, especially in American colleges today, is a pathway to a life of debt, government dependence and economic impotence.

Sorry but you are wrong. There are many jobs here that if you do not have the minimum of a Bachelors degree in General Studies you will not even be considered and that could be with years of experience. Fields like Business, Education, not to mention Healthcare all require formal education.

Maybe so, but for me I want to do community outreach and consulting and at the government level I will need a MBA.

I was reading online today and found out that Baidu, the equivalent of Google and the largest search engine company in China has its research facilities in Beijing, San Francisco and Seattle and yet Google doesn't operate in China. What does the US gain from Baidu doing business in Us when their own tech company can't operate in China and also considering intellectual property theft which is one the reasons for the trade wars between US and China.

It's not the intellectual property theft. It's the censorship. As it is Weibo, Baidu etc have to acquiesce to government demand and censorship. That's why Google isn't as active. They are there though.

Im sorry to agree on this one that Google works in China. Even using Virtual Private Network is a crime in China. I see no much difference in what China is doing and North Korea.

How do u think I can correct this hitch??
